You forgot the knorne daemon bomb biker army. Wooooonasty.... >_<

"Hi!!...I have a bloodthirster and around 20 some-odd bloodletters smack in the middle of your army! Which unit has the most blood in it by chance??!?!"

Anyone every played this list? It's pretty damn heinous if it works correctly.

P.S. I don't like Iron Warriors much at all. They can be played balanced, and it's refreshing to see them when they are played that way.  Still,...the potential for cheese is strong with them, and as such I just generally don't like the list as a whole because of how badly it can be exploited.

My $0.02. Take it easy.

You don't know me son, so I'll explain this to you once: If I ever kill you, you'll be awake, you'll be facing me, and you'll be armed.

Just because a list is frequently top tier doesn't mean its cheesey or broken.

Iron Warriors by design should take 4 basilisks and 9 obliterators and lots of lascannons.

It is part of the fluff. By definition of "fluff" they can't be cheesey if they are being fluffy. Heck, people whine about necrons. I heard something at a tourney I was at this weekend.

People will call cheese when they cannot counter or deal with it. Its true. All you need are a few hidden powerfists and a bloodthirster isnt that scary. Same with bloodletters. Or... a real novel thought is just to exercise proper target priority.

Eh, I guess its just easier to cry cheese and not learn from battles. My constant battles against my marine friend taught me much about my army and its frailty.

Pssst...They're limited to one basilisk.

But I agree 100% with what you're saying.  People always talk about a 'fluffy' Iron Warriors army.  However, they just mean an army that's easy to beat.  A multi Oblit/Indirect Pie Plate Iron warriors army DOES fit the Iron Warriors fluff

umm...could you please explain what makes alpha legion or blood angels top tier? (im not being confrontational, im genuinely interested in your reasoning)

Brotherhood of Blood

Blood Angels seem to always be competetive and usually have the large death co. Free furious charge and death company tend to make them competetive in just about any body's hand. Alpha Legion I am guessing on. Large mobs of cultists and everything infitrates setting up Havoc squads to hunt opposing armor ect. Don't think thier top tier though.

I would add armored company, drop pod, and a properly done necron force.  The standard issue min/max marine force tweeked for 4th seems to remain strong as well.

-"Wait a minute.....who is that Frazz is talking to in the gallery? Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG

Alpha Legion makes a very strong all-infiltrating shooty army, with good close combat support from chaos characters (and as many squads as you choose to make good at close combat) and access to Obliterators. They pay less for Infiltrate, so have higher model count than other C/SM Infiltrating armies, and aren’t hurt as badly in scenarios which disallow Infiltrate. They perform well in Alpha, Gamma, or Omega levels because they’re not dependent on vehicles. Some armies don’t even use cultists & daemons, basically acting as walking shooty marines with the aforementioned advantages.

Mongoose's Alex Fennell took first with them at a recent 40k tournament I attended, edging out my Dark Angels.

Blood Angels are basically the same as regular marines (already pretty good), but with free Furious Charge, the super-cheap and nasty Death Company, and access to the AC-toting Baal Predator.

Try breaking down the points cost for the Death Company chaplain and his DC sometime.  The individual DC marines are basically Assault Marines with Terminator Honors, Furious Charge, Feel No Pain, and free Power Fists for any that used to be Sgts who had Termie Honors.  With average rolling and a list designed to give you more rolls, you typically get a very large, very nasty assault unit for a very low price.
