It's probably just a generic stock photo, but still! Anyway, on to my question. What do people know about the board game Battlelore? http://www.thewarstore.com/battlelorepreorder.html

yeah, Neal is always trying to date me, but I flat out refuse. I mean, who wants to date a hot looking dude that owns a games store and gets big discounts for his product?
Err wait...I better call Neal Catapano back....

here is what i know. it uses the command&colors system where you get a handful of cards that dictate how many units you can move. like memoir44,battlecry or C&C ancients. the models are a bigger then 15mm but less then 25mm the board is a hex modular style, so you can setup different boards for different scenarios. and you could use it for a 3d map for a WFB campaign. there is a lot more info at boardgamegeek http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/25417

When I'm in power, here's how I'm gonna put the country back on its feet. I'm going to put sterilizing agents in the following products: Sunny Delight, Mountain Dew, and Thick-Crust Pizza. Only the 'tardiest of the 'tards like the thick crust. |

My understanding is they will take the memoir system a little further by allowing you to add heroes to some of the units, much like the Generals in the Battelcry civil war game that was the first of this type game IIRC. You may also get to add magic item to those heroes. There has been alot of buzz about this game in my shop and I have 8 copies pre-sold a month ago. It is supposed to release today. We plan on doing some game launch demos and riding the positive wave of this new game into the holiday shopping seaon. I will let you know how it goes after we get some in stock.

Memoir '44, a board game/miniatures normandy landings game. It is very popular, if simplistic. http://www.memoir44.com/

Yes, the system does look simple.
And intriguing!
So the tiles are what vary the terrain?

Posted By malfred on 12/04/2006 2:44 PM So the tiles are what vary the terrain? Yes. There are 3 boards and movable terrain. You can alter the flow of play at that way. It's simple and a lot of fun

The guys at 'The Dice Tower' ( www.thedicetower.com) Podcast already got a copy and they have a review three shows back (or so). They give it high marks. As others have said it's the Memoir 44 system (even similar board) adapted to 20mm fantasy. Has a unique army building feature. Just checked, it's show #74 "November 10, 2006 With two episodes to go, another episode of the Dice Tower! With reports from Rick, Moritz, and Jason, there is a lot of information in this slightly longer episode. Sam gives his top ten auction games, and I talk about different auction styles. We continue our contest for Cluzzle and Wits and Wagers, and I interview Mark Simmons about both Games Quarterly and National Games Week. The highlight of our show is Sam and I giving a short review of Battlelore along with a session report. "
