Ok here is an update of my Iron Hands, I now have enough of them painted for combat patrol.

They look nice, though the metal bits are painted a bit too flat for my tastes.

Thanks I need to find a better way to finish off the metal as currently its just Boltgun over black basecoat. Do you have any suggestions?

For the metal, I'd try a thin wash of black ink, then a highlight of 50/50 gunmetal/silver, then a very thin highlight of silver (on the edges and rivet-heads). Basic but effective.

You might try drybrushing the Boltgun Metal onto the basecoat. I use Mithril Silver paint from Testors - I get a very nice brushed metal look to my weaponry. It looks uncannily like your guns' paint jobs, I might add. I guess my Templars are close allies with the Iron Hands after all.

"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling, which thinks that nothing is worth war, is much worse. The person, who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."

Well I will give the black ink wash a go on the shiny bits, its mainly the missile launchers that look too clean. Glad you guys like them.
