Just wanted to get the word out to everyone incase they were looking at this. An IG Army up for sale with a current bid of around 10 pounds. It ends in a day. I happened to stumble across another auction that ended late november, that was the exact same item as what is being sold in this auction. And the real strange thing about it, is that it's being sold by two differant people, but the winner of the first auction, is also the high bidder of this current auction. I reported the auction to Ebay, and just wanted to let everyone here know about it so they didn't get suckered into a possible trap. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160054608530 Thats the "older" auction. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=004&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=140062052064&rd=1&rd=1 Thats the current auction.

Under further search, I noticed that the current high bidder left feedback for the original, stating that the majority of the models where damaged in shipping.
I think that she created a new account, and is trying to sell this one off, but is using her primary account to keep making the bids go higher.

moosifer - already pointed out. appears she/he/it skimmed the metal models - i think they were vostryans! - and a few other metal models that cant be broken before skimming it! id like to keep and eye on this to see what feedback gets left for this one. i would reckon it might end up with a nice shiny negative!! im almost tempted to email the winner with this thread and see if they can shed any light on it!! or is that maybe going a bit far? millest

If thats true, then its proxy bidding and is quite illegal.

I think 'shill' bidding is actually the term you're looking for. Proxy bidding is just getting someone else to do it for you.

Ahh yes. True. I beleive ebay uses the term proxy bidding though. I admit its been awhile since I read through the rules for that site though.

Ebay uses Shilling in this case. Don't know if they ever took action, because the auction ended without getting closed out. But due to email corrospondence with the seller, i'm about 110% certain she was shilling.

No she won the first one. It arrived all busted up.
In email corrospondence "she" told me that she realized she couldn't afford them, so was reselling it, sans a couple items. She created a new account, and then posted that auction using it. Then with her primary account, she kept raising the bids on it (while advertising no Reserve), until it got into a range she was satisfied with.
