i just realized after some verrrry close inspection by my beady eye...the creases and the left calf under the cloak...now that looks cool...

gem is way better looking and gives the model now a way more earnest looking aura!!!

definatly checked and bookmarked for massproduction^^

RSJake, That female military leader is getting better and better Ive been enjoying this blog more and more each day. Even though i dont post much here be assured i am checking in

Any plans for a female investagator that searches out heresy in the far future or maybe a laser musket and male head with a Bicorne (what George Washington is wearing in the crossing of the delware painting)

for the Bicorne look i would suggest you look into the victrix napoleonic range of minis... they have quite a lot of them...and you even may get them on ebay seperatly...

not that i wouldn´t love seeing jake do these as well^^

Wow! Lots of responses! I'll get to you all in a bit.

But first a small update:
I had made some progress on the Female in Steampunk Power Armor (Counts-as Coteaz) but it just didn't look like I wanted it to. I had used the female armature I used with Female Military Leader #2, (the one I just got done with), but I didn't like the stance for this sculpt. So I started over last night from scratch. There's really not much to show yet, I got a very basic shap done, that will need a whole lot of filing, sanding and filling-out. But I will post it so you can see her humble beginings.

I want her to kind of have her left hip canted up in a sassy sort of "I'm gonna kick your butt" pose....we'll see how that works out.

Anyway, responses.
@ El Vik - Lets hold off for a bit on the nerdgasm stuff! It'll be a while before she looks suitably steampunky!

@ Dave - Not much progress yet, not much in the World Eater thread yet either, but I'll have a scale shot up there in a minute or two.

@ green_oni - Thanks.

@ mayfist - Thank you very much. All I can say is, try it out. You never know what you can do until you do it. I have only been sculpting for about one year now, I started by just doing conversions, like adding muscles to genestealers to make them into Bloodletter daemons. I'm not a master or even close, I just enjoy it, and I love to see things come to life under my tools. Just try it. what will it cost you? About $30 or less for Green Stuff and some tools. Read the tutorilas found here and all over the internet. Try it! you might like it! (I HIGHLY reccomend getting the "Color Shapers", they make sculpting so much easier, but I just got mine about a month ago. You don't need anything fancy to start with, just an old, dull hobby knife, and a sewing needle.)

@ swampyturtle - Thanks mate! I'm glad to have a fan base! (asside from Vik and Dave, but I secretly think they come here just to give me a hard time! ) See above for the Female Blasphemy Investigator. Here is the concept sketch:

Unless you are thinking of one NOT in power armor. I don't have plans yet, but I take commissions! I do have plans for a navigator for Miss Dee, but since she's not commissioning me, it's on the back burner, but still on the list. So, I can add a Female Blasphemy Investigator to the list, but it's a long list. Did you see the laser Steampunk Rifles?

They are hopefully getting molds made as we speak!
Or are you thinking of something else? The Bicorne hat wearing male head would be do-able, but I would recomend the heads Vik suggested. If those don't work for you, let me know, I can take a stab at them.

Thanks Vik!

Thanks everyone for looking, I'll hopefully have more progress soon, and when the Laser rifles are done, I have 6 people on my list who PM'd me and said they wanted a free sprue, so hopefully the mold and casts come out well, and we can get those sent off in the next couple of weeks! I am very excited about it!

Speaking of which, yes! I am getting them cast currently, though I am still working on the sprue and putting hair fine vents here and there.
I swear man, I no longer believe you sculpted these, but instead were grown by a bacterial colony.

Oh, come on! They're not THAT small! I mean, I still have most of my eyesight! He he he.

Great news man! I literally have my fingers and toes crossed that the mold comes out well. Not for long though, it's very hard to type like this, and I have to get up soon.

and i will hold the nerdy ´gasms off for as long as i can... deal?

but... do i see a belly button already lol...

Soon Vik....Soon....

No belly button yet, that area will be covered by another layer of GS, to add definition. Her butt is looking nice though, and I have already started adding armor plates to her feet. Trying to get her hips canted at the angle I want is going to be tricky...need to do some internet research on female anatomy again!

In that last pick, her legs are a bit odd, but I have already begun filing and sanding them and filling in areas with more GS and they look better. Also, they will have bulky power armor covering most of the legs, so I think they will turn out.

Hey jake,

For the Female Blasphemy Investigator, i was picturing one more akin to what you see in Dawn of war II retribution with the female on the box or as close as you could legally get.....but i know there might be some copyright there...but if it was a one shot and not sold....eh whom am i kidding i couldnt afford your prices

The Steampunk laser rifles look amazing and I really cant wait to get a sprue of my own! but i was looking for traditonal weaponary (see below), not a steampunk'ed theme one.

Bicorne hats was just to see if it could be done. Ive been on a 18th century kick (Probably because im a history major and 3/5 papers so far this semster have been on the 18th century and warfare) and i was curious why i'd never seen a 18th century human guard solider done before in 28mm heroic. Google wasnt much help but maybe i wasnt looking hard enough. Just curiosity i guess

Again, I cant wait to see the sprue! Awaiting with great anticapation and will be following as ever.

So, kind of a Witch/Demon Hunter type? That would be awesome! That is going on the list!

She shall be called Female Monster Hunter! So shall it be!

And there were many rivets.

And it was good.

Amen.

Ahem...sorry. Yes, I like that idea.

As for the laser musket, you're just talking about a different version of a "41st millenium" laser rifle? I have thought about it, but there are so many others doing great versions of them, I think I'll let them keep doing it. I'm really digging the Steampunk theme, and I have other speacial weapons I want to do.

So yes, the steampunk weapons! I'm pretty stocked about them. The pistol will also look great with the female Cortez I'm doing.

You just made my week

As for the "laser muskets " and Bicone, its all good. I really wasnt thinking about starting a 18th century army (mostly cause im barely 50% into my own IG right now with my P&M) but it was just late night wonderings and too many hours of looking up historical facts / knowledge. Sorry for the derailment and tangent

Update!

This is what the Steampunk Female Cortez looked like yesterday morning:

And this is what she looks like as of now:

She's still a little too defined in the upper torso, but I will file and sand a bit when I get home.
There are some areas that are still a bit rough too, but those will be covered by armor plates, so I am not too worried about them.

The armor plates on her feet are kind of hard to see, but they're coming along well I think.

Thanks for looking!

actually i like a bit more muscles on a mini...a female mini ! i think the breast and backside and back muscles look very good!

also...you can actually catch a shoe fetish from looking at that one...

i wish i could sculpt like that... tried today some sculpting work on the sabre handle and it looks like i played with bogeys...no really...

Thanks Vik! Actually, the ribs are a bit too defined for me, but there will be some armor there, so I might leave it. I like some meat on the female figs too.

Shoe fetish? I hope you don't do wierd things when I get the shoes done!

I am NOT going to sculpt bare dirty feet so doen't even ask! Just for those that have that particular fetish.

I have a Hasslefree head I was planning to use, but I may try to sculpt my own this time. We'll see.

I'll hopefully have lots more by Monday, that is, unless I try to get some casting done...that totally messes up my sculpting time.

Thanks again

I forgot to add Vik, that you just need to keep messing with the GS. If it doesn't do what you want it to right away, just keep trying. The best part about it is, if you don't like how it turned out, just cut it off, and do it again! (wait for it to cure first, or you just end up with a mess.) I know it gets nerve-racking to work with, and you don't want to mess it up, I get that feeling every time I work with it. But if I don't like what I did, I just re-do it. Take you time, relax, and have fun. If it's not fun, keep practicing until it is!
