As I said to elnibbus it was surprisingly simple! It was just a pure white undercoat followed by three thin layers of reikland flesh shade, with a tiny bit of touching up edges with pallid witch flesh, but that could have been avoided too if I'd been more careful with the wash.

I think those are both very solid models. Love the way the patch-work cloak came out. Wow.

Hullo dakka, so I have been very naughty, neglecting posting on here since christmas, and favouring all the other social media sites instead, I have been suitably reprimanded by Nerdfest and am here to make it up to you all, the only thing I can give you, other than my apologies is a deluge of pictures, so here we go:

First some more beastmen:

Next is a lighthearted village idiot from hasslefree:

Then we have some more of the minotaur constructs I showed a page or two ago, together with their brayshaman who summoned/made them:

Forgive the odd edges on these images, not quite sure what happened there:

Then we get to some tzeentch stuff, to whet your appetites, some more tzaangors, and cultists:

And that brings you up to date with my most recent project, O'ot, owl of change, this is the concept i had, followed by the progress so far, its exciting stuff! Probably the largest thing ive ever painted and easily the most ambitious.

So, all caught up, now hopefully Nerdy wont have to murder me.

YESSSSS!! I was interested in O'oot but the Minotaur constructs are beautifully done and painted to such a high degree i'm in awe! not to mention your skin tones!! what paint do you use for your recipe on the lighter tones? O'oot is going to be a supremely inspiring piece of work I am so looking forward to seeing him come together, I'd personally love to see you still paint him in more neutral colours but have a splash of the Tzeenchian bright somewhere?

and don't you dare stay away for so long next time!

This is beautiful work. It makes me feel totally inadequate. Good thing I still love my own meager work also.

Why do I always want to burn my models in disgust when I look at your stuff? Oh, that's right. Because you're so danged good.

Superb painting Jpaint. The purple fellow is some of your best painting in my eyes!! Also the druidy type fellows with the glowing green stones. I LOVE your choice of colors on all these models. Very inspired work!

@ Dr H - Thank you

@KernelTerror- Thanks, Im going for a more creepy vibe than i have in the past, darker is the aim.

@ IGtR - Thank you, its a glorified kitbash really its the first example of me having an idea in my head that i tried to match with bits, rather than making an idea by randomly combining parts till i find something that looks cool.

@Nerd - Thanks nerdy, as i said on facebook, I followed your advice for the painting almost to the letter and im so glad i did, he is turning out really nicely, as for the lighter skintones, if you mean the off white ones they are based around pallid witch flesh, lightly washed with sepia and then rehighlighted with PWF, before some subtle work with pink and purple glazes to give them a bit of depth, the cuts etc are just BFTBG, god I love that stuff.

@Valhalla - Dont put yourself down! your work is incredibly good, and its all about practice, im constantly amazed by how much you can improve over just a few years.

@EDC - Thanks, was going for a sunless creepy look as if they spent all their time in libraries and shaded woods, i think it works!

@Gits, consider myself scolded. apologies, hopefully the paint update helps redeem me.

@Moltar - Thank you! Its really just sticking bits together but the overall effect is pretty fun!

@Boss salvage - Thanks, i think a far more muted schemes works so well for chaos, gives them that earthy dark feel, I am indeed on instagram, if you havnt already found me there is a link in my signature.

@Aku-chan - Hahahah maybe i will make a head not make out of GW parts to cast and sell.

@Warboss - Thanks, hope it doesn't disappoint.

@Bebop - Thank you bebop, I wont lie, the village idiot guy was very much inspired by watching your work over the years, I really wanted to try and imitate the way of painting cloth you managed on that confessor model a while ago, im not sure my offering is as good as yours, but i still think its technically some of the best painting I have done.

@San -Thank you very much San!

So I have an update for you guys, delayed, but nothing compared to the length of time it sometimes takes me to update this blog, again, you have Nerdfest to thank for the good natured prodding.

So this is the state of paint on O'ot as of this morning, I think he is going rather well, going with the same muted colour scheeme with just touches of bright tzeentch colours.

The wings are the main area that i havnt even touched yet, they are going to be rather time consuming I reckon.

Of course he is nowhere near finished, but I will keep you updated, If i get him finished I may even take him along to warhammer fest for golden demon in a couple of weekends, he has no chance of winning anything but I guess it would be good to have tried to enter.
