Different styles of heads are one of the best and easiest things to make very different armies out of the same plastic -- even the same monopose plastic.
Keep it up guys! Looks awesome!

Bomb collar and gasmask heads look great. +1 on the bodies not really doing it.
I think the jump suit could use some more sci-fi elements, so it can be a space suit to go with the space-looking gasmask head, or a fancy GSC-like boilersuit to make sci-fi cultists of non-order or jeans-stealing variety.
Improvised weaponry could also fit these guys, hand held AT-mines, crude close combat weapons f.ex.

I think adding some pockets here and there would help a great deal, especially on the legs. Perhaps even a pocket with magazine clips sticking out?

I'd be interested to see a 3d print with a base/wash or contrast layer, to see the depth of clothing folds and the zipper. One thing I've learned in the last few years is that 3d renders nearly never accurately reflect the physical product.

I agree a 3d print is needed to show if there is really an issue, or if is an artefact of making the 3d work in the real world
(Mad Robot's stuff often suffers with this as an example of renders looking wrong, but working fine when the mini is made)

Yeah, improvised weapons or tools would be fun to have.
I'm fine with the clean lines of the jumpsuit as is, but would love to have an assortment of pouches and webbing to attach to make them a bit more combat- ready.
Heck, I'd love just a tactical gear sprue of pouches, ammo, clips, and packs as it is. You can never have enough of that stuff to adorn your models!

I bought a box of spiders and a box of centaurs recently, both decent kits. The spiders are a bitch to assemble though, and the pose variety is a lot less than it first appears.
Not assembled any centaurs yet.

Improvised weapons and modern/70's ish weapons (pistols, machine guns) and some bare/non-collar heads would go nicely with those to create more spi-fi villains

No, sorry we don't have a recipe for you and this isn't a post to announce the new Wargames Atlantic Cookbook. Today we wanted to update you on the upcoming WW1/2 French plastic set. We have met our old nemesis: the sprue engineer! And he had this to show us: As you can see, not all those parts are fitting on the sprue! Sadly, this is a common issue as our enthusiasm gets the better of us and we try to cram on everything along with the kitchen sink! Fear not! There is a solution! We made MORE parts! Because this set will let you cover both WW1 and early WW2 we wanted to give you even more WW2 options. So we've added more Berthier rifles along with some MAS-38s to join the backpacks and FM-24/29 light machine guns that were already in the set. We will be expanding onto a second sprue so that this can be a truly exceptional set. All the new parts are finished and we are in final layout now with tooling to commence very soon. We will keep you updated! PS All these arms will also fit our soon-to-be-released WW2 French Resistance set too. The right boot is folding really badly on that first one. I know this won't be visible on the final figure, but still.
Very tempted to get these for a Weird War 1 7TV cast though!

Not assembled any centaurs yet.
I soon learnt to glue the two legs with the round pads at the end to the torso and base first, adding the additional legs from there.
Not saying you didn't but as info for others who may have had issues.
The lack of instructions can sometimes be an issue with kits but if it assists keeping the price down.
For others who've bought the spiders, the Wargames Atlantic site has a diagram of the parts indicating which legs go where.

I find the Grognards sets really tempting. They're a great balance of specific and generic. Yes, they're french and have big funny hats but you've got just some caps or helmets and their vibe can change majorly depending on what heads you use and what colour you paint the coats.
If you make another Grognards set, I'd like to see SMGs and pistols, RPG launchers and light mortars, some shovels and other assorted tools and toolboxes, various kinds of explosives and devices. Sort of a short-range and engineer set, I guess.

The Grognards do come with helmets and caps, though, right? You get Shakos, Bearskins, Kepis and Adrian Helmets, both with and without masks.

I've grafted across the WWI German gas mask heads for some Death Korps proxies.
An even better kitbash could be the German gas mask heads on the upcoming WWI French bodies with the Les Grognard weapon arms.

Oh yes, I meant that the helmets and caps are more utilitarian and generic than the shakos and big hats are. So a model with a cap and a dull green coat is sufficiently different to a model with a gas mask shako and bright yellow coat that you might not immediately peg them as the same kit and same kind of trooper. The ideal head for whatever greatcoat grunts you want might be slightly different but the range you do get is in fact quite broad so you can make a fresh-feeling squad without kitbashing at all. Just give them backpacks and a different head.

The spiders were a challenge. I've built most of the box and I think every one of them was done differently. I even used the schematic on the site!
Then again given what you've got in the box, might as well make your own abominations at that point. Maybe I ought to try that...

So, without taking us off topic (mods delete if you think this is inappropriate or point me to the relevant place to start a new thread if the discussion is warranted elsewhere) or veering into political discourse, I came across a somewhat troubling Facebook post by Mark Mondragon (the creator/designer of the various Dreamforge kits) - I've put it in spoiler tags for those who don't want to be bothered:
Ostensibly the post is about free speech, but I have trouble believing that it isn't indicating sympathy for or agreement with certain political viewpoints that in light of recent events I don't feel I can turn a blind eye towards or simply just overlook. I was considering buying more Eisenkern kits to support his future endeavors and bulk out my existing Eisenkern based guard/militarum army, but I'm reluctant to do so after reading that.
I won't be commenting/discussing this further beyond this post in this thread out of respect for Wargames Atlantic and not to throw off the otherwise positive discussion we've been having here, but I think people have a right to know who they are supporting - draw your own conclusions and conduct yourselves appropriately.

I support a broad definition of free speech and believe the only cure for bad speech is more speech.
I also believe in a world where I can talk to and even transact with people with whom I disagree politically. Tolerance is only meaningful when I extend it to people I don't agree with.
I also believe that there are arenas of life where we are better off agreeing not to raise political discourse. This forum is one of those arenas. I hope the mods delete both our comments.
