Let me jump in here quick before you get blasted for askin a simple question and just say , Yes they are doing a small amount of new Harlequins and they are due to be relased after Christmas some time in January. This has been posted on here before some time ago along with some pictures of them, do a search and you should be able to pull them up. Happy Holidays

I heard a release closer to mid/late spring, like April or somesuch. Can't imagine what the hell the hold up is, though, other than wanting to dry up the interest from the Eldar release (something only GW would consider beneficial).

Maybe people who want the harlequins now will go for the "collector" models and in Spring these customers will buy the new models again. And additionally, maybe some more people could be lured into playing Eldar. Just like the Medusa releases...

I see nothing wrong with spreading out a release.
However, it would have been nice if they could have promoted the unreleased Harlequins through an army box or something. They probably could have raised the price on the boxed set and included more stuff.

Buy new models to replace old ones that fulfill the same function on the tabletop? Never. The new models are downright incredible, but if they aren't released until April or whatever, I'm picking up the 1989 or whatever versions. And I sure as hell won't be buying direct if I can help it.

Brave words, bigchris, brave words...But i don't think many will be as consequent(is this a word in English?) as you are. And besides. don't get me wrong with this "spreading the releases" topic. I like it, but featuring the harlequins in the codex with very nice rules and then don't publish them with the rest of the models, which are also very nice, smells fishy to me. Greets Schepp himself

There is absolutely no way in hell you could get me to pay $8 for a figure sculpted nearly 20 years ago that sold for no more than $2.00 when it came out and would, adjusted for inflation, cost $3.25 today. Uh. No.
I agree, I liked the old harlies. I'm a sucker for a lot of the old RT era sculpts (but, generally, not the overly cartoony & flat 2nd ed "Red Period" sculpts). But as I mention above, I ain't paying the unwarranted premium.

I suppose it depends if we prefer the model to be added to the list of discontinued; not all for paying $8 myself, but I at least like having the choice of it still being available...

Yes because everything is a conspiracy, everything.
For some being able to still buy it and not get in a bidding war on ebay and ending up paying more than $8 a fig is nice.
And I love the new harlies. Have the old, but the new are just amazing, and more like the art in the original White Dwarf. I have a soft spot for the old stuff, but it just doesn't stand up in any way when placed next to new stuff. I almost feel like saying... well back in the day we didn't have all these fancy toys.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die. |

The problem with the Harlequin models, apart from the fact that I don't really love them, is that they really all should just have Kisses. Who is ever going to run them without?

I have a bunch of the old harlies, and I think they're great. I bought and traded for them while there weren't rules for them, just because I liked them. The new ones are fine, but I don't see any reason to replace the ones I've got, they aren't that much better. I may however get the new models for the characters as they look really nice and they'd stand out. And I'd need to get a new wraithlord for making a harlie wraithlord. But that can happen a long time from now. Must finish khorne and wyches and cryx first. And get my warlock to 60 (or 70). Dammit. Never enough time.

I have a lot of the old Harlies. They are all great sculpts (Esp. the "High Avatar"), even 10+ years later. As far as their small size compared to the new Eldar models, really all they need is for the legs to be cut and elongated (as many do with Marines) and I plan on doing just that with mine. The only real problem is that I'm going to have to build both a Shadowseer and Death Jester pretty much from scratch.

I guess this is where the comparative scale of old/new comes in - those of us with old harlies can look to do weapon swaps to donate their kisses to the new versions. Well, until the first 'scratch build a harlequin's kiss' article comes out, anyway... PS. This new boxed unit thingy for Eldar is pretty weak. Buy your Harlequins with a mandatory Death Jester per 5 regular troupers? Yeah, because we all want to do that...

Kisses should be pretty easy to scratchbuild. They're basically just tubes that come off the wrist. I could greenstuff that, and I'm not that great with the greenstuff.
