Those look awesome! What's the price point like? Do I have to donate blood to afford some?

US$14 for a pack of three, which makes them about the cheapest option I've found for shipping containers, and with better detail than most of the more expensive MDF options. I don't recall what shipping was for the two packs I bought, but it wasn't excessive as they're lightweight and ship in a padded envelope.

http://www.lasercutcard.co.za/shop/scenery/containers

And yes, they're awesome. Easy to assemble, and surprisingly solid.

So I got three of these assembled before the urge to convert stuff kicked in, and so I wound up with one with an open door... shipping containers courtest of Laser Cut Card. Still have two more, and have fun plans for at least one of them...

Thanks for the website Insaniak- these guys are great! I've already put in an order (and for a lot more than just the shipping containers- the No-to tractors have phenomenal possibilities!

Love how yours are coming along (I _must_ have one with an open door now too....) and can't wait to see your next conversion. Vorwarts!

Good, very good! These small bits from MEdge really liven up anything if painted just right!

Picture is a bit rubbish, and this was an awfully rushed paintjob, but here's my entry for nerdfest09's 'Nerdcademy Awards' painting comp, which had a 'More than meets the eye' theme. The objective was to take a model and paint it up for a different faction. So I did this:

"We dunno where 'e came from, or what 'e iz. Found 'im inna desert wiv a crack onnis noggin. 'E tried t'brain Lugnutz wiv a rock, and only stopped when a couple o'the ladz sat on 'im. Dey keeps him around fa' luck, like a mascot, sorta fing. 'E's zoggin useless inna scrap, but by Mork 'e's a savage little blighter."

Waaagh?

Excellent little piece, Insaniak. A lot of little details that lead to the larger picture with this one. Too bad it didn't land you a prize.
I think the base as well is oddly subtle. Didn't notice at first what you'd done with it.

Cheers. Had a lot of fun putting him together, although I apparently need to go and get my glasses checked, as I find I'm struggling to focus on fine details right now... Which made painting the markings on his shoulder and chest a bit challenging

Meanwhile, sneak peek at one of my current projects:

The container store will be a generic (probably abandoned) trading post this time around, although like with my vending machines there are so many possible ideas that it's hard to choose...

Meanwhile, some model conversions - just playing around with the Karist Shadow Walker kit for MEdge.

When you said you had a project in mind for that third shipping container, I was hoping it was something like this! Really nicely done- the cuts are so well done that it looks like you bought a laser-cut kit, not making a conversion- terrific!

Well now that's just cheating!

Really digging that bat winged Karist too.
Any chance of a comparison shot of those wings against say... A chaos marine and/or a darl eldar warrior? They look like they'd work great on both.

I don't have any of the current DE models, but I can snap something with a chaos marine and an old-school dark eldar... will do next time I have the camera out.

Lots of catching up.

Vending machines are ace, and the shipping containers look great, the converted to trading post specially, good calle.

Nice conversiones, too!

PS: The hazard-stripped tape is a great find, lots of possibilities there! (And no, it's not cheating, )

PS2: Edit for stubborn Spanish auto-correct.

I've been lurking on this blog for a long time now but this is some incredible looking terrain you are building!

Also loving the skateboarders of course, the purple boards and green clothes go together really well.

I think I may have to get some Karist kits as well because they look like great conversion fodder, would make for some great 40k assassins or stormtroopers...
