That's a nice force coming together there, and you're really soldiering on with it!

I'm on the edge of accidentally buying a box of those guys too, though I'd be converting them to make a Blanchetastic Necromunda-style hive gang... Really great minis, though, I look forward to seeing what kind of builds you come up with from the box!

Nice force of heretics just waiting to be purged by the IoM .

Will you be investing in any AM or Cult vehicles as well? If you have the stealers from Deathstorm still, you could use them to build The First Cursed formation

@WarbossDakka: I would only be spending it on booze otherwise so it is a win for my health!

@Para: They will be ideal for that, the intended use of the kit is that torsos fit specific legs but a bit of cutting should sort that. The last two Blanchitsus in White Dwarf have been stellar.

@Aov: The 8 stealers from Death storm are added to the two from Overkill to make a unit of 10, I may move to 20 though.

I definitely foresee a few Goliath's in my future.

Hello there. Between work, a trip to the coast for a music festival and life in general I have not been visiting the forums much lately but have managed to keep some progress up.

On the purchase front I have 2 Goliath's and the Armoured Claw (Chimera and 10 Imperial Guard Cultists) on order, probably here by either saturday or monday. That will give me 46 Neophyte Hybrids, I plan on using some of the minis from the Goliath kit to round it up to a cool 50 Neopyhtes.

Anyway the progress. I got 4 Acolyte Hybrids done, added to my previous 2 that creates a unit of 6. (Apologies for the photography, but I just cannot seem to get good shots with Xenomorphs)

I also gotten a further 4 Purestrains done:

Here with added Deathwatch Overkill Purestrain for a legal unit:

Finally here are a few of the builds from my Neophyte boxes:

So all I have left GSC from the Overkill box is 6 Acolytes, I will probably do them after I have painted the last of my Purestrains.

Thanks for looking.

Intresting colour schemes for the Genestealers. The smooth highlights are great.

How many did you go for? I have seen talk of 150+ minis for a 1500_1850 point army. That is a lot of painting.

Got the last of my 4 Purestrains done, here they are on the hunt:

And here is the army so far:

I have also started on my next unit of Neophytes, here is the icon bearer:

And 4 other WIP Neophytes:

I love these minis. Laying down a basecoat, giving them a wash and then highlighting is enough to show off the greatness of the sculpts and fitting enough for what is basically a horde army.

Thanks for looking.

You're totally right about that. No point spending ages on cheap troops. Even with minimal highlight they still look really good.

My thoughts exactly Warboss. My supply drop of 2 Goliath's and the Armoured Claw came on Monday, so I have had a bit of a build.

I got my first Goliath done, this is a cracking kit:

One of the benefits of the crew is turning them into regular infantry, I will be adding 4 to the Overkill Neophytes for a unit of 20 (units of 5/10/20 for me only please, none of this odd or none round number business):

My Chimera:

Finally my favourite experience has been using the much maligned Cadian kit with the upgrade sprue and Neophytes shotgun/bits to form a cool unit:

As ever, thanks for looking.

Cool stuff Thraxas! Love that Goliath . Will you be making the other into the Rockgrinder variant or will you be using the Chimera as your "heavy" transport?

Those Neophyte Cadians look awesome

I think I am going to go for another Goliath as the 6 man transport capacity of the RockGrinder restricts you to running Acolytes in it and I am more about the Neophytes. That said the grinder dozer on the RockGrinder is just soooooo cool looking.

You've been busy. I love the new Goliath, much like everyone else on the planet It's too bad that the Rockgrinder has such a bad transport capacity, it's one of the turn off points off the model. Is there any way to magnetize the Rockgrinder shield itself?

Love the Goliath, any chance you would be willing to share what colours/recipe you used to get the blue looking like that? I reckon it looks awesome!

Nice work on the vehicles. I like the use of the coloured panels, really helps tie it in with the cult dudes.

I think you'll need to talk me through how you 'accidentally' painted vehicles over infantry

Cheers everyone, I am very happy with them as well.

@Mad, thank you very much. The colours are.

Black base coat
Incubi Darkness
Thunder hawk blue dry brush on the raised edges.
50/50 Thunder hawk blue and bone edge highlights and on the rivets.
Finally weather as desire.

The colour is actually the colour I use on the Neophytes clothing that is not purple or leather, so it further ties them together.

@EDC: It all stems from my main painting philosophy, the bigger it is the easier it is to paint.

I have made a nice bit of progress with my GSC Neophytes over the past few days, in addition to the icon bearer I have finished off the other ten members of the squad:

Seismic Cannon:

Heavy Stubber:

The full 10 man squad, with leader, icon, Seismic Cannon, Heavy Stubber and 2 flamers:

I am also going to implement a numbering system on my transports using IG (or Astra Militarum if you are that way inclined):

Have also done a rough and ready test on my first Cadian cult member:

Thanks for looking.

Cracking stuff, the Neophytes look great and that Cadian definitely fits in. I'd love GW to do some more simple upgrade frames for that kit, like Renegade Guard regiments, Tau Gue'vesa and even just other IG regiments, as the GS one makes them look so much better than regular Cadians.

The shotgun Cadian looks all kinds of badass! I think the number on the Goliath looks great too but painting thin scratches of that base blue will make it look even better in my opinion.
