Hi, I'm new to the forum and wanted to hear your guys thought on the list, right now its purely theory-hammer but I've been wanting to try armored company for a while so I thought I put a list up for you guys to tear apart.

Armored company (Rules from WD 295)

HQ

Command vanquisher, hull HB, EA, side skirts

Troops

2X Leman russ, hull LC, sponson HBs ,EA, side skirts

Fast Attack

3X  Armored fists squad las/plas,
3X Chimera, EA, multilaser, hull HB

Heavy Support

2X Basilisk, IF

Total points:
1475 / 1500

For some clarification the reason I have the LCs on the 'russes is that the list is short on AT firepower and I thought that it might be worth a try. I am also not sure what to do with those last 25 points any thoughts and/or suggestions would be appreciated

If you want a tough armored company I would ditch the chimeras. This list only has two more tanks that would be allowed in a regular guard army with mechanised.

If you're worried about lacking Anti-Tank, ditch the Basilisks for a Tank Ace Vanquisher. You won't have any indirect, but it will look a little better against tank-heavy enemies. You might want to try using Storm Troopers in place of Steel Legion Guardsmen. They get an extra special weapon, which decreases their immobility, and the 4+ save makes them last a little longer, although most of the enemy fire will be directed at your tanks. I'd recommend making them counter attack units rather than line squads, so a double-plasma 8-man squad will do okay against a squad that was dumped out in front of them (move forward, doubletap with hellguns and plasma, tie up the unit in CC while your tanks adjust and prepare to kill the surviving enemy units.).

HQ
Vanquisher w/ Hull HB, Side Skirts, EA

Elite
Tank Ace Vanquisher w/ Hull HB, Side Skirts, EA

Storm Trooper Squad w/ 2 Plasma
Chimera w/ Turret Mulitlaser, Hull HB

Troops
Russ w/ Hull HB, Side Skirts

Russ w/ Hull HB, Side Skirts

Not sure what the points add up to. Not an amazing list, by any means, but a little better at dealing with anti-tank.

"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling, which thinks that nothing is worth war, is much worse. The person, who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."

Thanks for the responses. @ corpsman thanks for the suggestions I never really considered using storm-troopers, I guess I'm too used to foot-sloggers. stormies do seem to make more sense in this situation. I think I'll be sticking to foot based list for now, but thanks for the ideas.
