I had two simple ideas to help fix the Grey Knights and make them more competitive for use in friendly games where they can really struggle. These ideas are very simple and if I'm lucky I will be able to test them out with my friend who plays GK Demon Hunters.

1.) All Grey Knights have access to transports that can hold them:

a.) GK's in Power Armor numbering 6 or less can take a Razor Back
b.) GK's in Power Armor numbering 10 or less can take a Rhino
c.) Grey Knight Terminators may purchase a Land Raider or Land Raider Crusader as a dedicated transport assuming they can fit into the transport (that still counts as a scoring unit).

2.) Grey Knights get access to Predator Tanks in Heavy Support.

These simple additions would help make the Grey Knights a more fun army to use and allow them to field a much more balanced force.

i personally dont think that it quite fits the fluff. GKs are soldiers, not drivers or gunners. i always imagne GK rhinos and LRs being driven by STs...

I remember making some similiar suggestions on this board back in june (the predator idea was one that was much argued, with some for, some against, and some for with restrictions).

Personally, I'm all for the preds being driven by Stormtroopers, and requiring at least one ST squad to take.

IAH, as far as the transports go, I'm not sure I'd take them. GKs are expensive enough without spending additional points on non-scoring units, and work better as a shooting army than a CC army.

Two squads of GK terminators sitting in ruins with two psycannons apiece is a very daunting firebase to dig out.

I don't see Preds being against their fluff. GK's are no more "great warriors" than any other Astartes chapter that specializes in Assault. They do get lots of guns after all, and they have tanks including a Land Raider and a Land Raider Crusader where it specifically states that it is crewed by Grey Knights. So they have plenty of drivers/gunners in their ranks already.

Rhinos would offer a way of Mobility for the GK's that they don't have. No you can't assault out of it, but it would give you a way to get close quickly, shoot, and then assault or be assaulted the next turn.

Predators give you decent anti-tank while not being as optimal as Las/Plas squads it's not as crappy as a Dread either. I mean hell if Khorne armies can take 3 All Lascannon Preds then so can GK's. I mean how else do you expect them to deal with Demonically Posesssed Vehicles? I mean I don't know about you guys but every time I play against a Chaos Player with Vehicles they all have some sort of evil Demon thing living in them in one way or another, and it usually runs roughshod over the GK's as they can't hurt it very well most of the time.

To be honest, I dont care for your changes. While I understand the need for GK's to get around the board more, i think the problem could be solved by making deep striking on a teleport homer more like demon summoning that deep striking. Do taht and you make GH's amazing shock troops as well as not creating a proposed imbalance by giving them access to things that would not normally be granted to them
