The bent parts are easy to fix (some hot water to make it more malleable, and ice cold water to hold the now fixed piece so that it sets right.)

I will definatly be taking wally world up on the offer for the starter as I have only purchased boosters.

Sorry does not work on the heavily bent Trade Federation ships..... also the big ships have all a bend that does not vanish after using your method.

It all goes to what you want, I buy the starwars games, my group plays them, we have fun with them. When we are done the figs get tossed in a box till the next game. They aren't art, fine minis or something to display, its just a fun, light game. On another front, if you have a copy of west ends star warriors, the fighters make great figs for it, and its a great game.

If you know what your geting and are ok with it than its all good. Also the clix games, and the CMGs aren't competition for the hobby games, they are their own beast, easy to learn, fun fast games. Also the Hero Clix figs are hard plastic, repaint nicely and make great figs for superhero rpgs.

yeah, that does suck about the larger type 1 and 2 ships. Luckily, so far I havent seen any major flaws for the larger ships, just slight warpage.

If the plastic is brittle, then the hot water/cold water trick doesnt fly.

the warpage is very random. Some booster packs i've seen have absolutely no warpage, where as others look like a nightmare.

I've seen standard tie fighters with their wings/fins so bent/warped they look like crumpled up tissue paper, and other ones that are flawless.

The worst capitol ship I saw was the commerce guild destroyer. It was bent into a halfmoon.

It seems very...random. The game is fun though.

If the game is successful, you guys should save your unbent ships to sell on ebay. Hehe, imagine that: a new method of categorizing a card/mini's worth based on warpage. Two TIEs might be the same type, completely mint out-of-package, but one might look like an interceptor instead.

I found that the more you play, the tactics do get a bit deeper than in the initial look.  Just becaue the rulebook isn't 3 inches thick doesn't mean there isn't tactical flexibility.  I never expected this game to be as detailed as a traditional wargame, more like a more flexible Axis and Allies.

And as for bent ships, I haven't opened a blister or box set of non-collectable minis of figs that didn't require straightening, bending, trimming, and filing before I played.  Same with collectable minis.

I've seen the Reaper Exarch with both weapon options and both look like things you can buy in sex shops. A weapon should not look like this, not even a Emperor's Children weapon. -Symbio Joe

Interesting that Walmart is selling them so cheap. I wonder if they found a way to somehow buy them directly from the Chinese slave labourers and political prisoners who make most of the goods they sell?

Interesting to note that because some of these companys are selling products to mass market distributors, many game shops here are dropping products like Stawrs spacefleets, pirates of the spanish main, etc.

They just cant compete with the pricing and stay in business.

So they wont sell or promote the mass market products.

Which is fine, so when I go to great falls or missoula, I wont have to see clicky base games. (though Pirates and starship battles are really a great games , that part is a shame. I dont blame B&M's in the least though.)
