Not where I should be

For the first time ever I slightly dislike someone on Dakka!

Started work this morning at 08:30, just finished at 22:00, all I have had to drink and eat is a bowl of corn flakes, and a banana, swilled down with cheap orange cordial. And you go and show that bird and a beer! Truly disgusting.....

Just kidding bud, looks really nice.

Oh and the paint work is looking amazing, you have definitely not lost your knack.

Looks ready for the slag heap. Great terrain for necromunda. Did it come with rules? Now you need a beat up car and a compactor and you can put the Juvie in the car ready to be loaded into the compactor if the ransom is not paid.

It does Theo, and a mission with stats to destroy all three components of the set (2 tractors) one can imagine the different pieces scattered all across the board.

Either we've bought all of the stock GW has released of the crane kit, or they are purposely limiting the stock, either way sold out online already.
That's been happening a lot lately with GW.

@Waaazag, thanks! That's the best complement so far!

@Whale, I dunno, there seems to have been a paradigm shift there at GW, Internet Vendors can once again sell online for 20% discount, they are releasing games and product that their customers actually want, White Dwarf is great again, All the new releases are plastic, Who knows what is next?

It's as if they actually WANT to sell us more stuff.

I'm STILL waiting on my set of Munitorum Armored containers, they admitted they had no idea it would be so popular, at least they had more made once they sold out.

Thanks Valhalla! That was the idea. This went so well, in fact, It's the method I am going to use on all the blue terrain (from the previous pages) after It gets highlighted up to a more light blue/gray color first, Although highlighting the bottom of scratches to make them pop only really works on vertical surfaces, I think I can make it work.

I havent gotten much done this week, been stuck at work for what seems like weeks on end. Almost done, then my goal for the long weekend is to get the new terrain panels and supports done and then start tanks and pipes and such, which will require a slightly different approach.

Stuff n Things in various stages of being rusted and wrecked. a.k.a "The fun part"

I've been lookng at it for hours, but does the blue need to be brighter for the rust spots to pop more? I think this technique works best with very light colors.

In my opinion you are right, the rusty patches looked far more intriguing in the yellow parts.. contrast sells the decay better...so I guess a brighter blue might be the ticket here...tho I know you're a stickler to the blue construction parts, I wonder if yellow all over would have been also cool looking...

Yellow all over would defeat the purpose of safety yellow paint though.

I think the blue looks great, maybe not as battered as the yellow, but maybe they repainted the blue sooner. Or since the blue is not industrial use and more civilian use it takes less of a beating so less rusting. Besides just as in the real 1:1 world, some colors hide the rust better than others.

Hmmm... Just to be clear, these two are different. The one on the right has NOT had the base color reapplied yet, and the one on the left has not had the lighter highlight added under the rust......I think I can work this out... I hope to get both of your opinions on my next post.

@Vik - I've thought about overall yellow many times, but I think it's too late on this particular section of terrain. Thankfully, it looks like GW will be making these kits for awhile, more can be tried. You are absolutely right about the contrast being the key to getting the look right. Reds are also in there.

@Theo - Good point about the later painting, rust UNDER layers of paint also creates some funky effects though
