Busy day yesterday, assembled a ton of models for my Dark Angels.

Slow day today, just bought a can of primer, will be using it tomorrow more then likely on all the new models.

Finished this inceptor unit after putting it off for over a year. I really dislike gw flying models and their bases. Not super happy with how these are based but it’s the best I can figure out without buying special stuff.

Started sculpting/converting an Aspiring Champion of Khorne with hammer and axe. Using lots of spare Khorne parts and the base legs from a Space Marine they are getting green stuff sculpted over them. Taking my time, trying to make it look awesome.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

I finished painting the last 4. Now I need to come up with a basing scheme for them. Sandy rock is my current plan, but I'm open to ideas.

Here they are:

Added sand to the bases of four models...which means all 9 of my remaining infantry have their bases finished by tomorrow. The pile of shame is really getting small...as long as you do not count all the other household items I have been collecting for terrain.

Cheers,

Once I'm done with a conference call I'll put the final highlights on some plastic dwarfs (6 total). Going to change it up by working on some cars for Gaslands.

I'm a teacher so I'm home for the foreseeable future, which on one hand sucks but on the other hand...I have't been this painting productive in years.

Assembled, primed, and painted six zombies as a test - the other twelve will be done in batches of six each....as that's just about as many as I can handle doing in a 2 hour sitting.

Very nicely done.
My basing scheme is about the same for all my models, homemade astrogranite gray.
It's kind of boring but it matches my playing surfaces and is sorta neutral for blending in on various tables.
Sandy rock sounds like a good option, too.

Still painting Orcs, one last highlight on the current batch then I just have to flock and magnetize the bases before moving on to the next group.

With them done I'm half way through the unit of 40!

Began the building of my Sons of Horus Despoiler squad, combining the various chainsword options and Devastator Sarge open hands to create some brothers in the midst of combat, also began sketching the rough idea for a scenic base for a duel between two commanders that they can slot for display like some of the Forge World character series.

Spoiler:

Working on a commission I normally wouldn't take, but I can't really get the models back to the owner due to social isolation measures. Orginally, it was only going to be priming the models, but now that I am kinda stuck with them for a while the owner convinced me to just paint them all up. I am only going for a low-ish tabletop standard as get it done and go back to my own projects. I think I am making pretty good progress given that I only started working on them three days ago.

Working on the base for a Daemonhost (for if/when I get to Eisenhorn), and undercoating some of my Armoured Containers with Death Guard Green.

Might do some more of the assembly of my Bastion, too, and maybe drill out the barrels on its Heavy Bolters.
