Looks like they've attempted to basically copy and resize Brian's old designs for this project.  I'm ok with that, but I'd rather they just had Brian do the whole thing.  Maybe he did?  I don't know.  GW's been all about disappointing us by ruining a good thing and having someone else mimic Brian's style rather then have the master do it himself.

Can you imagine this logic:  "Everyone LOVES Brad Pitt's work guys!  Let's pay him to supervise a look alike trying to mimic him!"

they look good and chunky like good black orcs should be!

I thought Brian Nelson said at one of the Gamesdays that he didn't want to do more orcs, so he wouldn't just be known as the "orc" guy?

Thanks! I think those are totally sweet- based on what we can see. I guess I will put off buying the metals ones now.

He's got a mind like a steel trap. By which I mean it can only hold one idea at a time;
it latches on to the first idea to come along, good or bad; and it takes strenuous effort with a crowbar to make it let go.

That's a good idea.  They'd probably make great skarboyz, with some minor conversions.

I know Drake Marcus is gonna jump all over my $hit for saying this but...

As long as they get rid of the horrendously jutting booty, and overly bowed legs, I am hip with them. Those two feature were far too exagerrated.

That was the only thing stopping the third ed orks from perfection.

They put some pretty wicked looking Gobs on those sprues.

Awsome! I love them...They are rather inspiring...Speaking of which...

Is it possible to do an Orc Army that is ratherBlack Orc Heavy?? I'd theme them to ancient Sparta!!

Woot Spartan-esque Orcs!

So you have the option of recreating the drama film that swept the nation "My Left Foot".

Hahaha, you know me too well.  In my opinion I always thought the ape-like anatomy Brian gave the Ork/Orcs was cool and fit with their personalities.  But I can understand if you're not into it.  To each his own.

I love my metal Black Orcs, but I'll still pick these badboys up to make my command unit for Grimgor.  I think that's the best route here.  I expect Grimgor's personal unit to be the biggest, hardest Orcs in the army, and as such it makes sense they'd be larger specimens then the other Black Orcs in my army, no?

I wish these bad boys had come out about 2 years ago so I could have gone ahead with my black orc to storm vermin conversions. Instead I settled for the fuglies...

well, I don't play fantasy Orks anymore, but those would probably make great Skarboyz. Or bosses...

Drake, how can you tell that they are bigger? They look to be about the same size as the metal ones to me. In fact, it looks like they just recut the masters to be molded in plastic.

Black orcs as a base for storm vermin...that's a really cool idea Jojo!

Actually on Warseer people that have handled the sprue made the comment they are exactly like the metal black orcs, though a little larger to fit the current scale of the plastic orc models.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

Ok, cool. If I didn't already have all the Black Orks I could want, I'd pick up the plastic set. Cool that you have the option of making one or two handed, but why didn't this come out with SOC? Granted I got my 2HW BO's at 60% off when they came out, but this would have been a much better seller if it came out with the SOC lilst. So what's the selling point now? I would have loved to have this set come out in conjunction with the Grimgor list and would have had a 'pure' BO list.

Yes, beating that dead horse, but it keeps twitching!

I am not sure about the timing, but supposedly this is the first plastic fig set for WHFB that was done entirely on the computer.

nope- the giant is actually the last big kit to be done completely by the old methods.

GW really is raising the bar with their plastics.

The iron jaws/gobs would look great on any 40k ork (or are they shields, its a bit hard to work out).

Here I was happy finally that I was skipping orcs and gobbos and doing Empire and they spring stuff like this on us.

Does anyone have an idea on how many come in the box, and how much the box is going to cost?

Dont know, but this is one set they make Iii would buy for $35 and not cry about it. Ofcourse I am probably really far off from what it would cost though, but can always hope.
