Yup, the codex, DA Battleforce, Ravenwing Battleforce, and a whole swag of DA unit boxes have gone up for Advance order on GW UK...

http://uk.games-workshop.com/storefront/store.uk?do=List_Models&code=301243&orignav=10

So far, all looking pretty good.

Although I did notice that the biker Sergeant is moving fast enough to pull the robes back from his legs... but still somehow has his hood up... Maybe the DA have a ready supply of double-sided tape.

Nah, its a special type of hood liner. It acts very much the same way as velcro for space marines not quite so bald head.
I beleive that space marines have a cranial subdermal glad that allows the hair to end in a velcro hooks, much like split ends today (though the inquisition pronounced split ends a heresy at the beginning of M.23, an vanquished it through the use of Ho'ho'bo H'alsom). The Uncipilios gland, if I am not mistaken.

Ouch. 20 pounds for the plastic Devs vs 18 for 10 tactical Marines and 15 for 5 Assault Marines. Not cool.

Pretty good combos of minis in all sets.

And the assault cannon strapped to the underside of the land speeder may be new, as it seems to have a new targeter next to it that isn't on the old tornado currently being sold in the store.

Agreed on the ouch factor for the devestator marines, however with 8 heavy weapons you should be able to strap the backpacks onto any leftover tactical marines you have (I just checked my SM bitz box and came up with 63 tac marines ready to be assembled )

Also 1 metal + plastic devestator mini currently costs 6 GBP so in the long run its much, much better.

Yeah, $25 for 5 gay space marines in dresses is getting a bit excessive. That equates to $50 for 10. (judging by current conversion quotes for the Pound sterling to the dollar.)

They dont need to raise prices every june, because they have price increases like this.

But ofcourse, the Dark angels veterans will be $30 when june hits, so I suppose we should be thankful we are only paying a mere $50 for ten tactical marines instead of $60?

I love GW, they help me save alot of money by spending it somewhere else.
Not that I want space marines in dresses, but really, a price increase on essentially the same models they have, everytime they re release a codex?

No wonder they want to re-release space marine codex already. So they can charge you $50 for a ten man tac squad that you MUST take to use heavy and assault weapons in the same squad (if rumours are to be believed).

Granted, you dont have to use these models, but if you want to, youre gonna pay a premium for skirts.

Ill leave the drooling fanboys to pay those prices.

I dunno... the current Dev box is also more expensive than the Tactical Squad ($10 more on the US site) and only comes with 4 heavy weapons.

So comparitively speaking, the new one seems a better deal, since as Gonads pointed out, you only need to add a few extra bodies to use all the extra weapons.

Gonads: The assault cannon is new. There were some pics up a while back (from one of the GDs I think) with a better view. It's supposed to be an all new Landspeeder sprue with all of the weapons options in plastic, if I remember correctly)

Although I'll give you this much- that DA Battleforce is a joke. It comes out to more then $5 a marine (Canadian prices here).

Yeah.. our battleforces are $130. Even though the exchange rate would put them at $100ish based on the US price. But that's ok with me because I refuse to pay for GW stuff in Canada with only a few exceptions

Horray of eBay!

Before anyone accuses me of perpetuating the dakka price awareness stereotype- thank you- we are, generally, good shoppers here. My mom is always impressed at the deals I get.

I note that, of the 8, two are the not-so-highly sought after Plasma Cannon.

"Bloodstorm! Ravenblade! Slayer of worlds! Felt the power throb in his weapon. He clutched it tightly in his hand and turned towards his foe letting it build in the twin energy spheres and then finally! RELEASE! No offense Robert, but people who buy their stuff do have a right to complain when they percieve an ill value. I admit that they get a little deep around here, but thats not the posters fault that the populace in general  are starting to see GW as something more than a dollie company, who makes dollies.

And youre right, people should go play another game. But we like GW's brand, and feel ill when we pay $5-$10 per model on plastic. The reason why GW originally went to plastic was to make building an army more affordable. I can buy the metal counterparts of the robed DA marines for less than what the plastic version costs.  GW has obviously lost sight of their plan and basically promise to gamers through ill management.

If people dont complain and vote with their wallets, then GW just says "Great day! Full speed ahead! The populace is not Price Sensitive." and call it good. Its not.

I would be excited about this if it wasnt for the fact that you have to pay $15 more a box for robed marines.

But hey, if you like the models and the price seems reasonable, then full speed ahead!

yeah but hellfury
the complaints arent just about prices its everything they do someone has to rip on them and they do deserve alot of it.. but it gets old reading the same complaints they broke this made this unfair i wish theyd go to a d10 system it doesnt end

im not advocating their prices are anything close to acceptable far from it but whats the alternative?
if you look at what little you can buy in the warmachine line there isnt a lot you can do with the game other than buy 5 differet factions that equate to wait... oh yeah a full sm army

Fow is no better

so there will always be compaints but i just get tired of it over and over again

when they are releasing soemthing that could be a very nice change im hopeful .... i know ill probably get my heart broke but thats something to look to ill know in a week or so im getting an advanced copy of the codex so ill know if it is going to be a yea or a nay like the templars were

Actually, you get ALOT better value for your money. We're not JUST talking model count......Perceived value counts for more that JUST whats in the box.

Hope more old fools come to their senses and start giving you their money instead of those Union Jack Blood suckers...

PERCEIVED value has alot to do with how someone feels. a good value can be had even if someone isn't willing to admit it. I am not saying that GW has the best value, but I am saying the anti GW bent has alot to do with what people perceive or are "talked into perceiving"

I just don't buy into the whole Warmachine = good.. Gw = evil..  both want to make money, both aren't totally truthful and both have good and bad models/value.

personally the whole mine is bigger than yours arguement is rehashed here to the point all someone has to say is price/GW/new and everyone goes into a tailspin.. i still run into people that hold a GW grudge from the late 80's and early 90's.. spurned customers are just as bad for business as anything else, perceived or real.  Some of them haven't pulled their heads out in 20 years and couldn't tell the ass side of a mule from is mouth anymore.

And as an aside, the Vet box set has a lot more than just the pieces for the 5 vets, it also has a lot of parts for the Deathwing. It is basically the whole Dark Angel accessory sprue.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

see, in all the *female dog* and moan no one even mentioned that the accessory sprue had all the cool stuff on it.  i buy the accessory sprues even if i don't do that specific army as there are tons (yeah i know grams really) of plastic goodies to add to my army.  it's a good thing my space marines are never quite done, so i don't have to strip them and repaint them.

Q: What's the deal on including assault cannons if they're taking away the 2nd? (Is either rumor
