Couldn't you have just left it alone?  You can feel free to ignore what other people say here; it's the INTERNET.  Or the intearweb. Not important, either way.

It's nice to see that they were willing to change it though.  I know I'm so lazy that if I wanted to enter, I'd just order the bitz instead of sending a SASE.

So what you are saying is that they (or you, are you their representative or just such a huge fan you have to promote them with every breath you get?) would have amended the draw requirements if Hellfury had not made the complaint? Yeah right...

Can we cut the belligerence?
Why does it have to be the case that BWbits was deceitfully acting in contempt of prize-draw laws?

Can we not just consider for a second that maybe BWbits is not the devil incarnate, despite what Hellfury or his fanboys tell us at every available instance?
Maybe they genuinely wanted to throw a contest that would appeal to both consumers and hobbyists alike, and happened not to take heed of the genuine nature of contest laws.

Amen Wayfarer, amen.

I am so happy that there are companies like BWbitz around to help me with my gaming needs. They save me alot of time and money. I know it is not the Dakka-way to be positive about anything but I think BWbitz deserves it.

You're kind of a jerk.  But your company is offering a great prize.  I've already sent out my self-addressed-stamped-envelope and encourage all dakka readers to do the same!

Agreed.

So really, this thread isnt about BWBits contest, but a chance to make personal digs directed at a single poster.

I concede! BWB is the glowing example of purity and they can do no wrong!

all i can say is - WHAT ABOUT INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS????
the onyl way we can enter is for us to purchase the bits. there is no way for non-us/canadian folk to enter without having to purchase due to the delays of international postage! i would imagine, nay i would guarentee that the winner with be a us or canadian customer! why? simple postage delays and the fact international shipping would be extortionate!
great competition and well done for launching it, its nice to see something that rewards the sites users the downside is its actual accessibilty
sorry if it sounds cynical but i just hate missing out on things cos i live on a different continent!

Glad to see he changed the contest. I don't think anyone would want him to get in trouble needlessly.

Beyond that.... why exactly does anyone feel the need to pickon hellfury? Get your panties out of a twist and move on. Stop behaving a like a bunch of 6 YO's.

What do you get if you join the Hellfury fan club?
It better be something good like a pile of spare bits or something.

I have nothing useful to add.

I'll never kiss this cheek again!

Seriously, though: Glad they changed the rules to comply with the law, and I hope they now have some kind of legal counsel to help them with this kind of stuff.

And if it's okay to call out Hellfury, then CLEARLY it's okay to call out everyone else, don't you think?

So what's to say they won't 'pick' the winner from the 'ordered $25' pool from the 'SASE' pool? I'm sure there's a 'greater chance' that the winner will be someone who ordered from them rather than some schmuck who spent the money on two stamps.

BTW, I have ordered from BWB and have had no problems, and love their service. Just playing the devils advocate.
