Been doing a bit of role-playing lately, so for fun I got into fantasy map making. Haven't drawn anything since high school, so it was neat to pick up a pen. A lot to learn, and a lot to work on...but enjoying designing random fantasy maps.

Building the HMS Victory for Warlord's Black Seas.

It's not really that hard, just a complete PITA as WL casts the masts & spars in metal for the big "named" ships. You pull them out of the box & there's no end of straitening needed before you can assemble. Assembly (not counting full string rigging) only takes a few minutes after that....

Made some bocage test pieces , waiting for the filler mixture to dry and will get some paint on them tonight then will crack open the horse hair and clump foliage.

Have about 7 ft of bocage,,, that’s nowhere near enough. Need maybe triple that amount at best.

I like those, very neat looking. I used to love drawing maps as a kid, it's a fun exercise in creativity.

Worked on terrain. Acid pools for Necromunda or 40K.

This afternoon my assistant & I finished the temporary minis table.

The edges where the cloth is tacked down aren't perfect, & there's some (very) slight ripples in the fabric in places. But as we're not aiming at permanent perfection, just a more suitable table top than the too-small dining room table for the time being, it's fine.

Oh, and I figured out how to post pics here!

Finished off a bunch of Malifaux models so can now tick off Plague, Tormented and Bandit keywords as fully painted. Also worked on a couple blog posts, and put pics of a couple more recent projects on my plog here on Dakka

Worked on the first layer of water effects on a toxic pool.

Basing, priming, & organizing more goblins.

Over the years, quite a few old school WHFB goblins, many missing bases, have accumulated via EBay lots etc.
You know, you buy a mixed lot for one thing, several goblins are in the mix & get chucked in a box.

Well, today was the day all those misc. goblins (about 60ish!) received bases, a coat of primer, & formed into units or assigned to existing ones.

Quite the exciting project.
