Depends on the price. And the army being offered. I could be tempted though.

I think that in all honesty, I would have some trust issues about the transparency with which the whole thing is run. It's just so easy to suspect someone of fudging things when it's all distant.

i can see that.. have you ever bought anything online?.. there is a trust issue there as well for a 5.00 chance some might not be willing to risk that. I havent worked the last 9 months to establish my stores rep to play games and screw anyone.. i wouldnt expect people to say oh yeah this is ok i expected some reservations i have enough of a response from the various boards i think ill try it and see.. worst that can happen is i lose my butt on the first one and i dont do it any more never know till i try

So you are talking about a sort of charity raffle? $5 chance to win a Megaforce, once the cost (retail? Or wholesale?) of the box, and shipping(?) is covered, any extra money from tickets would be divided among the various internet board providers? That might be interesting. But I don't play 40K.

I think that you'd have a hard time getting that much repeat business for something like that. Once it a while might work, but I think people would get tired of the "monthly" thing.

I think the timing is off for that type of promotion.
GW isnt the most popular guy on the block. When they become popular, then Ii am sure you woould see that type of promotions being very well received. Bbbut at this time it I personally wouldnt think it is.
The reasons being: *Not many megaforces out for various armies ( i definatly dont need one myself, not with the megaforces that are available) *the novelty is gone when its done too often. *Tom Kirby ate my baby!

Thats exactly the idea...one board has already let m eknow theyd rather see the money go to a charity and ill be happy to do that. im talking after cost.. thius isnt a make a ton of money deal its something extra to offer and i may only do it once a quarter, i dont know yet

@Hellfury
There has been a rash of baby eatings lately.... Maybe that movie "Children of Men" had it right?
And Drop Zone;
I for one would not be interested. With this type of product, I don't really think it lends itself to a giveaway only because what people want in their respective armies is too many combinations to describe. A megaforce is not usually on people's "MUST HAVE" list, as unless you are starting a new army, most of the time you don't need that stuff. Now maybe a quarterly raffle for the hottest new releases or something, thats a different story, but who knows.
Also, I don't know if you mean it intentionally, but your posts come off as very snarky (for lack of a better word) and unprofessional.
1) You asked for opinions, and your post where you disagree with the opinions suggested just sounds whiny and childish. "I didn't work 9 months for nothing..." Well, most people online don't know how long you have worked for, and there's really no way to verify either way. It's just not something you'd expect a reputable business owner to say flat out. Even though we are all thinking the same thing you are, we'd rather here you say, "Oh, well maybe I'll have to tailor my event to better suit your tastes?" or "What kind of promotion would you like to see that would bring you back to my store?". Much more effective.
2) This may seem like a petty point, but your posts lack even capitalized letters and punctuation marks at the end of your sentences. This kind of thing may be fine for a regular old message board profile, but your profile is also representing your business. Anything you post here, (whether intentionally or not) reflects on not just yourself, but your business as well. Looking at it another way, what comfort do I (Not me specifically, but the customer in general) have that you will handle my order properly and expediently when you can't even type a proper sentence? Where as some people may not mind, there are others that this probably turns off right off the bat.
The bottom line is "BE PROFESSIONAL" about how you run your business, especially if you are going to open yourself to public scrutiny in this fashion.
Just trying to help.

I probably wouldn't do it. If I wanted an army box, I'd pay 220 for it or whatever the online vendors are asking.

You might find this more of a hassle than it's worth; raffle events where the tickets must be purchased generally fall under gambling laws. The feds will want a cut (the vast majority, most likely) of whatever you earn from the ticket sales. There's a reason that ticketed raffles are almost exclusively for non-profits and the prizes are donated.
