1500 pts. Battles Rogue Trader Tournament
The concept is simple, create two different lists. One using the "Attacker" Battles Force Organization chart, the other using the "Defender Battles Force Organization Chart, with the additional restriction that the Defender list can't field dedicated transports. You lists cannot exceed 1500 points.
There will be three rounds, to determine which is the attacker and which is the defender will be determined by a D6 roll before each match, winner is the attacker. You add a D6 to your roll every time you are the defender and you pick the highest, like a Strategy rating. (I.E. if you where the defender in round one, then in round two you roll 2D6 and pick the highest). That way, even though there is a possibility you will be the attacker in every game, it is not a probability.
Missions will be a combination of Victory Points and pure objectives, usually requiring the attacker to acomplish a mission. Every mission will reward the attacker for being moble and the defender for being static.
There is a requirement to have 2 Bunkers for your defender list (failure to have them will lead to penalties in each of the missions). Bunkers function exactly how they do in the Warhammer 40000 rulebook, with the following changes: Bunkers can't take more than 15 square inches of table space, Bunkers can be no taller than 3", Bunkers can't be built with any terrain on them, and finally Bunkers must have clear access points.
There are also optional things that a defender may field, they are (2) Tank Traps, (2) Razorwire, and (2) Sentry Guns. Tank Traps and Razorwire should be modeled and function exactly like they do in the Warhammer 40000 rule book. Sentry Guns have there own rules of use that will be explained in the tournament, needless to say it is a twin-linked heavy weapon mounted on a 40mm base. For Imperial and Chaos, it is your choice of Lascannon or Heavy Bolter. Eldar - Scatter Lazer or EML. Tau - Missile Pod or Burst Cannon. Etc. Etc. If you plan on attending and fielding Sentry guns, just post in this thread what race you are using and I can tell you what your options are.
Imperial Armor is allowed, with the exception of Super heavies, creatures with mass points, and named Greater Deamons. Any Imperial Armor unit you wish to field, you must use the actual Forgeworld model or a convincing Scratch build (when in doubt, don't bring it, if your scratch build doesn't look like what it is to represent, the model will be banned from games), you are also required to bring a copy of what you plan to use for your opponents information.
This ties in with our greater event, our campaign called "Battle for Orlandus Prime". Several players have won character Wargear which will be in effect for this tournament. However, there will be things included in the missions to help keep it fair for those who have not yet participated in the campaign. If you wish to join the campaing, the cost is 10 dollars and you get a 25 page booklet with all the rules you need to participate.
Registration starts at 11:00 a.m. with dice rolling at noon. Entry is 15.00 dollars. Prizes will be based on the amount that attends.
I know this conflicts with the nearby Megacon Tournament, but this date was set back in December, and too many people have committed to this date for us to change it.
See you there!
