Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

The local GW manager hasd the Dark Angel codex, he only answered one of the questions I asked.

Yes, some changes in the new Codex (he didn't specify which ones) are effective for ALL Codex Astartes marine chapters.

Till it says that in the FAQ's or codex in writing the specific changes to Dark Angels are that just to Dark Angels.

Huh? How does this "confirm" anything about SM Redux? He's talking (very unofficially, I might add) about the DA Codex affecting ALL SM chapters. Which, even in the fanciful world of GW store managers, is a bit of a stretch....

Space Marines Redux will be a "reboot" codex, much like Dark Eldar V2. Changes such as power armor confering a 2+/4+ invulnerable save, bolters becoming R24" S4 AP4 assault 4, terminator armor being rerollable 2+ invulnerable save, and librarians getting the new "shoot with every unit in your army before the first turn" power will be applied across the board to all existing Astartes armies.

Remember, you heard it here first.

Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG

You know, to be serious about it, I actually wouldn't mind this. If marines were true-scale. And 80 points apiece (or whatever you have to cost them at to make this reasonable). But then that wouldn't sell a ton of models, so it could never happen.

If that ever happens, I will hunt you down and butcher to stop you jinxing the game again.

Hence the 'take this for what its worth' tag. Normally I could expect definateive answers from someone actually reading the codex, I take the reliability of info down a bit as it was a game store manager.

I agree, that would be loads of fun! An entire IG army vs. one or two squads of Marines. Just as it should be.

The Movie Marine list from White Dwarf 300 is perfect for that.

Exactly. Now if they'd only make a comlete list based on that.

"The convoluted wording of legalisms grew up around the necessity to hide from ourselves the violence we intend toward each other. Between depriving a man of one hour from his life and depriving him of his life there exists only a difference of degree. You have done violence to him, consumed his energy. Elaborate euphemisms may conceal your intent to kill, but behind any use of power over another the ultimate assumption remains: 'I feed on your energy.'" - Frank Herbert

No reason why they couldn't still sell a ton of models.  Just make the typical game 8000 pts.  So what if someone decides to field 1000 guardsmen?  That just means even MORE models sold!  Awesome!
