I tried to resist the urge of the Four-Armed Emperor, but I just couldn't. Ordered the classic Genestealer on Throne, a couple of Hybrids, and a Genestealer Familiar yesterday. I already have a plastic genestealer from the Macragge box, Lt. Varras, and an old Imperial Guardsman to use as Brood Brothers. Looks like my Genestealer Cult will be ready to start any day now. I tried to be a good Ultramarine... really I did...

Nice. I really wish they'd bring back the Genestealer Cult army as a full, viable army. I'd also like to see other cult armies as well in the same book, and have some base "cultist" sprues that you could add Genestealer, Chaos, or whatever else to them to make 'em the appropriate type of cultists. But kudos for doing this!

Trust me, no matter what damage they have the potential to do, single-shot weapons always flatter to deceive in 40k. Rule #1 - BBAP

From my FLGS, Bridgetown Hobbies in Portland, Oregon. They're not OOP, just archive/class range. They don't show up on the website, but they're into the big catalogue.

Congrats! Welcome to the "cult."
Assuming my painting stays on schedule, my GC will make its premiere at this year's Baltimore GT.

I've been toying with a Genestealer army for COD for a year now. 'stealers, a broodlord, zoanthrope rules for the magus and rippers for cultists/zombies (just put a bunch on each base)...

I think the lesson here is the best way to enjoy GW's games is to not use any of their rules.--Crimson Devil |

You can do all sorts of neat stuff using the Inquisitor genestealer (using them as carnifexes or warriors for example). I've seen it and it's pretty cool. Good luck.

Yeah, I'm surprised too! Also, the lil' genestealer familiars are the cute. Luck with the cult! - Boss Salvage EDIT: Actually, I really like those little familiars. Is the bitz code the one from SOL? And do you know the price?

The price was cheap. Around US$1.25. I don't have the new code, but I've heard that you can use the old codes over the phone with GW Mail Order (though I haven't tried it myself, preferring to give my FLGS a cut of the action). I'm also afraid that I don't remember which exact familiar is still in production.
Thanks for the cries of "good luck," all. I'll probably just put together a small force of a dozen or so guys for a 40K skirmish game I'm adapting from Necromunda / 40K 2nd Edition. If I waited for GW to write the rules, it'd take forever, and they'd just make a mess of it, anyway.
I just HAD to snap up that Patriarch before it was too late, y'know. I really regret not getting certain minis before they went OP, the Psi-Titan in particular.

I was planning on doing a Genestealer Cult army as well. But with =][=, Eldar, IG.....it just fell by the wayside. The old stealer minis I have were collecting dust for so long I have to put them up for trade. Hopefully someone else will find a good home for them...

GW is starting to give some of the larger independents the same bitz ordering station as in their own stores. Lots of nice stuff in the catalogs now, and no shipping charges to the customer, no minimum order for the store. Very nice program. Get your bitz , and support your local store.

....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.

Yeah We have one in our FLGS. However, the orders take forever to get in. I am still waiting on my order I placed 4 weeks ago.

Wait, you mean archives bitz access, even ancient codes for figs, not only at GW but your LFGS too? Huh? Really? This is news I *like* being an fan of a lot of the quirky oddball sculpts from the late 80's/early 90's before Gary Morelyism took over (ie: GW's "Red Period" through most of 2nd ed).

Yeah, though last I heard, at my store there was a minimum order ($100, I think) so sometimes there was a bit of a wait until enough people ordered things. It's a pretty popular store (I guess), so it does take more than a few weeks usually.
That said, don't expect to find everything in the 1991 Blue Catalogue or anything, but there are still a few of those old models available. Marneus Calgar on the throne, Leman Russ... Harlequins of course. I think it's mostly space marines and chaos warriors, with a few other little things here and there. There's less every year, so spend lots of money on GW stuff right now!
Huh, I just noticed that the metal 2nd edition IG Sentinel is pretty cheap... Only a bit more than the new plastic one... Silly-looking thing, but at least it's not a Star Wars ripoff... and it has an assault cannon, which never hurts.
