Astounding work. The multi-layered textures of the walls look really good. There are so many great details in this one building. I’m very impressed.

as for living outside of big cities... yup, that was the whole point... after six o´clock it is so quiet here that you get sleepy even tho it is still so early... (ok...might also be due to the home renovation and unpacking of boxes )

Thanks Everybody! Not much work done as of late. I just got offered a job managing a local record store I used to work at par time. The Previous Owner sold it, and the new owner was told I was the guy for the job. Its the first time I didn't have to apply for a job, and my reputation did something positive for me. I'll work more on this once I see how my schedule settles down. soon.

sounds cool...but be careful working with love... it has some cruel hooks that might be hurtful... but if you can manage it then it might be heaven! literally!

@Vik - Oh I know too well. This store actually means a lot to me and a lot of the community as well. It's become a cultural icon in town as well as a record store. I quit originally because I couldn't bear to see the old owner flush it down the toilet. (He made some poor management decisions and got into too much debt) and debt leads to more and more poor decisions..etc.

It just occurred to me that I never let anyone here know that over 1 year ago, I retired from my previous IT work I did for the past 20 years ...around about the time I stopped posting on this thread....(I had a rough surgery and a bit of a rough time recovering)..again, only a few pages ago, but over a year ago...sorry if this confused anyone.

and i just remembered a quote of mark twain i think... find a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life again... sounds lie this might be the next best thing to true love indeed...!

So, job you can like, has decent hours, lets you have time for projects, and you have shared your life with us all. (I think that sums it up )

@vik I've heard that all my life too, I hope it is true I remember those 70s show episodes! Hyde did a lot of sitting around tho, IRL, there's a lot more moving, carrying, and alphabetizing going on ,and talking to people in general.

@syro - Thanks! Everything is very well now! I had broken my nose as a child, and as a result of not seeing a doctor then, it caused me chronic sinus infections as an adult. I had to have reconstructive surgery on my nose and sinuses, the recovery was a miserable 8 weeks of hell. It's all been worth it though, as I haven't had any further sinus infections since.

also...i know quite some record stores... but i am nowadays only youtube music or CD user...so a record is too old tech...and i also don´t own one at all anymore...

When I worked there part-time before, I pushed the broom every day, the old owner just didn't concern himself with such things as cleanliness, or alphabetization. Today, The new owner took great pride in pushing the broom himself in his new store...All the new releases were on the new release rack before I ever got there this morning.....I think we'll be alright.

@Red Where have you been? Vinyl is the thing nowadays! It's the expense and inconvenience that really draws people in Technically, it does have higher fidelity too.
Our City has 4 different record stores

We have a couple record stores here in St. Louis too. Some are pure vinyl too, no CDs .

Anyone buying CDs nowadays could probably be called vintage. Lol

His work with that Plastic soup container was so amazingly creative. It brings a tear to my eye to see it's up to 30 already!! Look what we started!!

The League of Extraordinary Riveters terrain contests really are amazing. They have great energy and really bring our out people's creativity and enthusiasm. The pieces I've made for the league contests are the most detailed and the terrain I'm most proud of. Thank you Dave and the other founding members.

I collect CDs as my physical music format of choice. I passed 370 CD albums at last count.
Although I tend to listen to my music as mp3s, it's nice to have a physical copy that can't disappear in an instant.
On that note I once had Microsoft's Groove music delete all my mp3s instead of clearing the playlist. I don't use that program any more.

Good to see the terrain contest keep going as I find myself with less time to stay involved. I still keep my eye on them though.

I think that's covered all the talking points I've missed.

Welp...I'm afraid I was sold a bill of goods on that job. It wasn't all that it was promised to be. Life is just too short to deal with dishonest people.

I remember working at the comic book shop I and all my friends hung out at. The owner flipped out and turned out to be something different than we had believed. It hurt when we all stopped working and hanging out there.

I hope it was an amicable split.
