wow Theo! That's EXACTLY what happened here. The new owner's kid is turning it into an unrecognizable place. The shop was a place that sold Culture as much as records, now he's raising prices, and wanting to sell Funko Pops. Not a place I want to shop.

FUNKO POPS the end all of good businesses.

Seriously that’s like corporate officers thinking that we can improve the overall health of the company by laying off 10% of the workforce, which also means that the corporate officers get a big bonus .

I’ve had my shot to open a game and comic book store, but I don’t want the headache. Looking at what used to be my FLGS, which is now just a LGS, I see the quality of employees out there and their willingness to develope friendships with new customers. (Sarcasm there just in case it wasn’t expressed well enough ). Was having a good discussion with one such employee a few weeks ago and he almost had me convinced that they were turning things around by being approachable when a friend came in, he immediately broke from our conversation without excusing himself or even finishing his train of thought . He went over and started talking with his buddy about a Kickstarter and didn’t even notice me put back a $50 purchase I was going to make and had at the counter. I left, he’s seen me twice since then, the first time he asked how I liked the game (the one I didn’t purchase). The second time he avoided me and had someone else (not an employee as he was embarrassed by the previous conversation ) ring me out as he literally hid in the bathroom . I guess I shouldn’t have told him I thought his service was lousy .

Hope the owner figures the out. It’s hard to see a place you love go south.

Sorry to hear about the job issues Dave. It seemed like a good deal at first.

Hopefully something will come along that stays decent.

Thanks guys, I'm not upset about it. It is what it is. It's just a hobby, no sense in it being this stressful, dealing with things normally associated with fun. I may be getting old, but I'm still employable I'm just too old to be pushed around and lied to. I went out into the country to my Brother's place and shot a bunch of ammo through some guns today. I feel 1000% better Dakka is good.

@Red Where have you been? Vinyl is the thing nowadays! It's the expense and inconvenience that really draws people in Technically, it does have higher fidelity too.

Slow enough to lean, slow enough to clean. The mantra of a well run retail store. According to friends. I have plenty of LPs, Dave. Signs of a well spent youth But, absent a dedicated area for 'the system' I rarely pull out the turntable and listen to them. My loss, I know.

Googled "Funko Pops". Regretted it.

Ah, what guns? Something fun I hope, although plinking with a .22 is perfectly acceptable, and rather therapeutic.

Oh yes, many .22 tacks were driven, some 9mm, and 45ACP (my favorite) in rifles, a mean 22 Hornet, which was something new to me, and 5.56mm, and a few expensive bigger rounds I don't remember off-hand. It was therapeutic for sure

I go away for 5 minutes and you are through another job already! I've been a bum on welfare for 2 years and you have had 6 jobs in that time! Hopefully this brief silence is due to a wonderful new career, and you have started the new decade with a bang.

Not sure what it looks like in the video game, but I think the ends need to be curled down showing the weathering. That or a rug/ couch hanging over the edge.

Still, looking good so far, and yeah, maybe some board warping, some tattered rugs, etc.

Nice to see some progress on your build, Dave. I need to be careful in here, your work always inspires me to leap headfirst back into Fallout: Wasteland Warfare....speaking of which, I got an MSLA printer a few months back and most of what I've printed on it so far has been specifically for that game....I'll have to dig some photos off of my phone and post them up soon.

Anyhow, I'm really looking forward to seeing this building come to life.
