As stated, how much? Look at the past 6 months.

For me it is currently between 0 and 10, because I have not bought anything the last few months. The reason is I do not have the money to spare any more.  I used to spend between 20 and 30 a month.

Also I have told myself I needed to paint a lot of models before buying another thing

Looking forward to your answers...

Mines is in GB pounds though.

Not sure what that'll be in US dollars.

I may pick up the occasional old blister or boxed set or whatever from a store clearing their stock out, or pick some old stuff up from ebay when the mood strikes, or in a trade, but most of my money is going toward Warmachine, D&D and other figs (Foundry Vikings, Reaper Orcs, etc.)

Guinness: for those who are men of the cloth and football fans, but not necessarily in that order.

I think the lesson here is the best way to enjoy GW's games is to not use any of their rules.--Crimson Devil

Bartius, multiply by 2. (roughly)

Besides paint, and a box set every 3-4 months, GW isn't getting too much of my cash nowadays. Being at school definately has an impact on my spending of course, as I am much more willing and able to purchase and assemble models during the summer.

So it's either a helluva lot, or bugger all.

I spend a helluva lot of other people's money on GW, but bugger all of my own. Oddly enough, all the minis I've bought for the past month or so have been things TGN reported on.

Curse you TGN! Making me waste good beer money on random, indie company, minis...

It's hard for me to say. I generally buy an army all in a month or two, then don't buy anything GW for the next 6-10 months.

For instance, I hadn't bought anything GW for 6 months, but yesterday I bought the rest of my 1500pt army (costing me $150).

I want to stick to $20-30 every month, but the last two months have been $100+ for me. I blame Xmas and birthday for giving me the cash to burn

Though technically, only about 1/2 of my hobby $$ goes to GeeDub, as I'm always looking for alternate companies to use in GW games ...

During months that I am working on an army, probably about $50 a month... basically, a regiment box and a blister.

Sometimes I'll go on a binge however and buy a bunch of what I need. IE: for my guard, I bought 3 boxes of cadians, a russ, a basilisk, and two boxes of HW teams, in one week. I also bought 3 of my 4 needed boxes of thousand sons in one day...

Privateer press, I've probably been spending close to $60 - $75 each month...

Over the past six months I've spent a whopping $100. Basicially the Battle for Skull Pass set, a blister or two and one bitz order. In fact, that's about all I've spent on GW in nearly a year. On the other hand, I've easily spent ten, twenty times that on products from other manufacturers (Reaper, Rackham, Battlefront & Old Glory amongst others). Between their excessive pricing and me building what I got I don't forsee that ratio changing anytime soon.

I have so much on hand, I don't have a reason for much more. As others have said, GW has given us the straw that broke the piggys back.
35.00 + for models, and then when blister packs and 80%of the figures are becoming unusable as the years go by, it doesn't give me incentive to do much buying until this company either gets its stuff back together, or dies a horrible bloody axe flailing death.

I will say that on the whole, I probibly have around 10,000.00 worth of GW throughout my house. The possiblility of me lightening my load of it is becoming evermore closer, depending on how my future home fares as far as gaming. When I have to drive 45 minutes to get to my nearest LGS, it doesn't do much more for my motivation, especially when Space Marines are a dime a dozen to fight.
the 40.00 for the Cadian Heads is my closest as far as a mini's purchase in the past four months.

Another thing Im kinda waiting on is the current Spce Mrns PWN YOOS phase of thinking, and hopefully some of these duffs come to thier senses and give us a few reasons to bother with continuing to seriously wait for the nevercoming codex's.

The last GW purchase I made was a Mordheim Witch Hunter warband off of ebay, and I'm pretty sure that was over 6 months ago.  Since then I've spent over $100 on Flames of War minis (probably close to $200 if you count books and paint and such).  As a college student, that seems pretty significant to me.

Is this money given directly to GW, or just on the hobby in general? Cause I don't give any money directly to GW anymore. Ebay for the win.

When I began collecting, I made it clear to myself that I'd spend no more than 200-300 total on minis. I assembled my tyranids and orks through ebay with maybe the odd box or blister from my FLGS. I'm interested in doing guard now, (a small army, non-GW figures) and to finance it, I'm dismantling my orks and selling most of them on ebay.

I never want to find myself looking at a pile of plastic and metal and wondering how I blew 3 grand. Unless said pile of plastic and metal is a personal computer.

Went digging through my old posts, and guess what? I've been hating on mat ward since before it was cool

I build at least 2 armies a year, for the past 10 years.  At least one for Adepticon and one for a local show.  I have built units for every 40k army ever produced at one time or another.  The 2 armies a year I build are about $600 each, largely due to conversion and custom pieces, but more likely, more than 2 armies a year, and added units for existing ones at smaller price points. $1200 a year? certainly.

Like most of the people here, I got all my recent GW stuff off of Ebay, with the single exception of a couple of Forgeworld Tau suits (which I got as a gift incidentally, so I guess that kinda doesn't count either). Since their mad price increases the last few years, GW games just aren't within my budget anymore and I find more enjoyment for the dollar from other means of entertainment (online games, console games, privateer press stuff, etc.)

I used to spend a lot more on GW stuff when it was actually cheaper to get a playable army built up, but when it costs upwards of $400 for a smallish army, no thanks, I'll go to ebay or other games like Warmachine/Hordes where the cost to build a new army is on the order of $100-200 (which is what it used to cost for a GW army about 4-5ish years ago). It's just hard for me to rationalize such a huge expense all at once for toy figures which I only get to play with maybe once a week or every other week for a few hours.

Funny thing is, I have a friend who spends a TON of money on GW stuff...it seems like he builds a new army every month or two. So that would seem to match the poll results of people either spending little to nothing now or gouts of money on the hobby.

Since I usually end up being Agustus's 40K caddie, I spend about the same. Certainly in the last 5 years, two to three armies a year depning on which tournaments we go to and the conversion process. Forge World is my vice and and an evil one it is.

Interesting that my response, 0-10, was the most common.  I was a little surprised.  I assumed most people fed the beast at least 50 bucks a month -- but then saw that no one does!

I used to when I was collecting. I have 4 (5 if you count 1000 points of Dwarves) armies now, and no real need for more at the moment.

If widened out to include *all* miniature purchases, including non-GW (especially non-GW) figures, I bet for many it probably would be at least $50. I know it is for me. At least, on average it is.

What I find to be ironically funny is that most of the alternative companies with different games are only marginally cheaper, if cheaper at all, then GW.

I've posted prices comparisons before and I really don't see that large of a difference in many items.

I had a friend of mine who works for GW tell me this story: a customer wanted bases for his models, and blanched when he was told they were 25 cents apiece. He left saying he'd goto some website and get Warmachine bases instead. We went to the site...they had them for 39 cents each.

I was in a store the other day and they had some models for Battlefield Evolution...I looked at them and thought wow...too much for my blood. Yet I also dropped for 3 boxes of rangers. I guess if more people locally played other games and there was a support system like that of GW's, I'd feel safer making an investment into other figures.

.Only a fool believes there is such a thing as price gouging. Things have value determined by the creator or merchant. If you don't agree with that value, you are free not to purchase.
