This Sunday, March 4th, is the start of the long and busy season of shows and events that Forge World will be attending/hosting/taking part in throughout 2007. This first show is Conflict Scotland in Glasgow and will be closely followed the very next weekend by us whizzing down to Conflict South-West in Bristol on March 11th. Ticket information and location details can be found here.

Each Conflict event plays host to the regional tournaments for 40K, Warhammer and Lord of the Rings which can be really quite competitive! As a visitor to a Conflict event you get the chance to get involved in all the different aspects of the hobby: painting, gaming, modelling, terrain making and an opportunity for fresh inspiration from seeing the work of Games Workshop staff members and other hobbyists in a much, much larger and more exciting environment than you might normally find in your local GW store or club.

Forge World often use events to show off new designs, showcase new and upcoming releases and even sneak out a couple new releases if at all possible. I`m not going to give the game away but I do have a couple of very special display models packed up to go up to Glasgow that have never been seen before. This will be a little extra treat for all the people coming to Conflict Scotland on Sunday, but of course we will show both models in the Forge World Newsletter in the very near future. If you’ve got any questions or want a chat about anything Forge World is doing/planning, rumours you`ve heard etc, then this is your chance.

All I have to do now is pack up the van with all the display models for you to drool over and a big, big pile of model kits that we will be selling on the day. Unfortunately, the boss won’t get me a truck big enough to take every single model that Forge World make so I won’t have everything available on the day. To make up for that, anything Forge World doesn’t have in stock at Conflict, or ANY show for that matter, you can mail order it and when we send it to you, we`ll pay the postage!

Thx and hopefully see you soon,

Looks very much like a Terminator of some sort. Maybe they're doing their own GK Termies? I doubt that though. Maybe some Pre-Heresy Termies? Red Scorpions maybe? I'd love to see some Chaos ones, but I don't think that looks very Chaosy.

"The convoluted wording of legalisms grew up around the necessity to hide from ourselves the violence we intend toward each other. Between depriving a man of one hour from his life and depriving him of his life there exists only a difference of degree. You have done violence to him, consumed his energy. Elaborate euphemisms may conceal your intent to kill, but behind any use of power over another the ultimate assumption remains: 'I feed on your energy.'" - Frank Herbert

Nah, it looks similar to their GK Dreadnought head.

I'm going to guess it's a DA Venerable Dread.

Maybe, but that's not how their naming convention usually works when it comes to thumbnails in their newsletters.

For the thumbnails, if they even bother with a "suffix", they usually use nl not tnl. Larger pics end in a dl. For example, in previous newsletters a thumbnail of a Leman Russ was named lemanrussnl.jpg and a thumbnail of the DKoK Grenadier Special Weapons was named grenswnl.jpg.

So while I think Toreador may have most of it right, the "T" is probably significant.

Looks like it is the Dark Angel ven Dread. It made an appearance this weekend and can be found on Warseer.
