Tabletop Gaming News is looking for one or two interested parties to join the site's editorial staff to act as 40K and Warhammer news and review editors.

As most readers will know there is a lot of news being produced about GW's two main core games and we at TGN want to be able to provide a much more comprehensive selection of news about these two games.

If you're interested please email me at editor@tabletopgamingnews.com and write a bit about yourself, your gaming interests and why you'd be a good fit for TGN. Please limit your submissions to no more than 100 words.

What is in it for you? At the moment not a heck of a lot other than the vast fame that comes with writing for TGN... GW doesn't appear to actively submit products for review, something we are working on changing, so we can't really even offer GW goodies as perks. So if the exciting life of pursuing news items for GW products for no immediate reward speaks to you then send in your submissions and you too could be one of the writing staff at TGN.

Please note, while this is a position that will focus on GW products, some familiarity with and fondness of other products would be useful. We have a very full review schedule here and we will possibly need people to work on reviews of other products as well.

When last I looked, GW had three "core" games on its books...

Do you know something we don't or is it simple anti-LotR bigotry again?  As I undestand it GW produces pretty much as much new stuff for LotR as it does for WFB and for 40k, and there is a strong LotR-gaming community out there (see www.thelastalliance.com for instance).

Cheers

I'm not sure what it is that you're getting upset about but since we're not looking for an LotR editor it doesn't make much sense to reference the game in the posting.

I'm a big fan of the game but the fact is that I can handle the LotR news on my own. 40K and WFB generate a lot more news (from GW and other sites) than LotR does.

Again, not sure why it is that you're getting worked up about this but the posting isn't "anti-LotR bigotry". Perhaps you need to just take the post for what it is, a request for people to help track and post 40K and WFB news.

Would this be purely editing incoming news and/or stories from other sources or does this position actually involve writing up articles/editorials about new products?

Also, does the focus of these news pieces tend to be on miniatures, the actual gaming supplements (rules), or both equally?

yakface's 40K rule #3: Codex does not ALWAYS trump the rulebook, so please don't say that!

The position will primarily deal with posting news. At this point we don't get any GW items to review. As I mentioned I am working on changing that. We also do have too many items to review so there might be some reviews of other products involved.

I envision that this position will entail

1) Rewriting GW PR or the site
2) Trolling Warseer and Dakka Dakka (and others) for photos and confirmed news items

Regarding your last question the news pieces will focus on the entire range of GW's 40K and WFB releases do it would be both minis and game supplements

Fair enough Zac, any offence caused retracted.

I appreciate your news service and have always been pleased with your coverage of LotR.

What I was meaning was your comment about "GW's two main core games". I initially read it as "GW's two core games". I appreciate that there is a lot more internet activity about 40k and WFB, so I see where you are coming from now.

I must admit I am a bit over-sensitive about all the ill-wishing of LotR by 40k/WFB fans over the years! It's really getting under my skin now, and I "shot from the hip" over what I had perceived as another slight of the game from someone I thought believed in it.

I accept that I was wrong and wish you well with your hunt for an editor for "GW's other two core games"!

Cheers

Thanks

The Last Alliance does a great job of getting all the LotR rumours and info together so it is darned easy to keep track of it.

I wish there was one place to go for 40K and WFB info :-)
