I love the stryker but it looks like it would be a tough conversion. Not to say I couldn't do it but what ever I convert next I need multiples of and repeating the conversion could be a pain.

Here my next task guy but it will require some time to develop some extra cash flow. I need a good idea on what to use for hydra flak tanks. It needs to be on a track system. Please link me up with some ideas.

Agreed on both points. Stryker is ideal for Urban ops, but conversion would be a pain. Besides, to make it 40k, you'll want to section out two sets of wheels, so it's short enough.

On a side note, I love this conversion.

It almost makes me wish I was taking something it could "cout as" but it doesn't fit into my army at all.

I took these guys out for a spin last night and we played a battle mission. It was probably one of the worst possilbe scenerios for these guys. I was playing against a mycetic spore tyranid army. The basic setup was this, no reserves for me, all my units had to be 12" or more from a table edge and more then 6" apart from eachother. The other player got to come in from any table edge and could drop all his deepstriking units on his first turn with no reserve roll. He also had automatic first turn.

By then end of the first turn I was so crippled that it was over. We played it out, I was tabled in 3 turns.

Without the ability to cover my weak armor and creating a mobile firewall everything was helpless to light arms fire.

The most painful game so far.

I could totally do a better variant of the Black Maria that would look a bit more tough for my flak tanks.

I laughed when I read this, because I am suppose to be finishing my space wolves and have gotten distracted with my WOC army. Now I'll never finish either. I was suppose to be priming wolf guard, then started putting chaos warriors together, then I realized that chaos warrior hammers, maces, and axes made perfect power weapons and went back to converting the wolf guard I thought were ready for paint.

I need to but I have been lazy. I am looking at picking up some new models to get the hydra flak tanks rolling. I was either going to convert off more chimera chassies or thinking of picking up the Forgeworld tank that is modeled like a sand buggy. (Can't get the name as FW website is down. Still playing around with ideas.

On the other hand, I have had a ton of fun playing this army. It hits nice and hard but has had its share of defeats. Very fun and balanced.

Picking up 4 new chimeras on Wednesday. So I should have some more work to do there. My printer is down again, bought a new cartridge, printed one army list, told it to clean itself and it is now stuck trying to clean itself. I still need to print more transfers... if it isn't one thing its another with this project. I should have some good updates soon.

Shame about the printer, you tried re-setting it?
And good news about the chimeras
