You said that "most people in the know" that I mentioned are "full of crap", not that "you'd be surprised to not see a battleforce". As I don't like decent rumour posters being insulted like that, I keep on making this point until you see that your insult wasn't justified. Guess it would be too much to ask for an apology.

Whatever1, you are popping up quite often with your pissy attitude as well, in rumor thread after rumor thread. Usually it takes members 1000's of posts to reach your level of crazy. Congrats on your rapid promotion!

Kan was dead wrong, Kroot was right. Kan worded his statement very strongly and a bit insultingly (probably not on purpose tho knowing Kan a bit lol) and Kroot called him on it when the facts came out.

Don't call trolling then stir the pot, especially when the guy you say is 'trolling' was merely pointing out that he was correct after what most people would consider an attack. What bridge do you live under btw?

Actually its like this.

Both sides "supposedly" had their "sources" one side rudely and condescendingly dismissed the other's statement on their source regarding certain release.
Which was proven wrong.
Then the side that was actually correct all along decide to call out the other side's mistake no doubt because the other side was been rude about it to start with while been wrong about it.

Its like cause , and effect. Trolling? Nope now whats your explanation sockpuppet >:'D
Now why does this concern me? well i have been anticipating the DE release since November , which for once i like all the plastic sculpts.
So for me its like me losing the waiting game and go and buy a DE now , or hold it in and wait for discount from battle forces. Its just so hard to wait :'<

That's it. And the other side apologized for being wrong, not for insulting several rumour posters. Guess he has to google what the term "insult" means

BTW on DE release dates my sources were mostly Harry, Scryer in the Darkness and Frgt/10 on DE who proved almost 100% correct, while Kanluwen's sources were just Kanluwen

I don't know when 'copying and pasting' good info became a no-no... Not every rumor can be directly confirmed by somebody who had a one-night stand with Jes Goodwyn lol , sometimes we have to rely on the people who have a track record of being correct and who do have 'real' sources, and have someone else be kind enough to search the info out and share it with the rest of us! Anyhoos, the Krootster is no troll!

Those aren't your sources, Kroothawk.

They didn't give the information directly to you.

You really need to work on this. You're compiling information. You're not WikiLeaks for Games Workshop Rumormongers.

Kan, bud, isn't that just semantics though? They are the people he gathered the information from, so saying 'my sources' isn't incorrect per se. If he simply said 'Originally posted by X, who has a very reliable track record' would that make it cool for you?

I dunno, I'd call these other dudes 'reliable sources' too just to avoid writing 15 words to say the same :S

Group hug time!

Ok, so to bring this topic back OT, I have a question -

Now that the Codex has been out a while, what list seems to be the most effective? From a gamer's point of view, is the addition of the Haemonculi faction, and the Venom, something that would effect purchasing the current available models? I.e - if you had a limited budget, and wanted the most effective DE built you could get only buying enough points for one type of army, would you wait or is what's out now the ideal primary force for most situations?

Guess our experience with army builds depends on the release schedule, so less wracks, flyer and Venom lists tested ATM.

I have no actual experience to draw on, but I always got the impression there were always groups of 'math hammers' that would build ideal lists purely by stat crunching? Or at least X unit is better than Y unit for the points?

Apparently no one knows what's competitive for DE right now.

Paprika!

But seriously, for DE I think their key is, every single slot has AT and most choices for slots have AT, looking at Nids for arguments, they have elites for AT and have to choose between them. But DE at comes out of the woodwork no matter the list you're writing - which means the rigid cookie cutter style of building and one of the main reasons for building lists in this style is gone.

Almost every slot has support and assault troops, eleits troop and FA all have 4+ invulns and so on - there is just so much spread across the Dex.

What's competitive in my opinion is a well balanced force backed with the knowledge of which jobs are just a little too hard for which units.

I'm thinking the same. Coven armies will be big on the tournament scene initially if people can learn how to support them properly.

As for me, I'll be fielding a well rounded army without spamming lots of anything. Then I'll switch out what is needed depending on whom I face. I only play friendly games, I'll leave the tournament scene to the competitive players.

OK . . . Major WTF!? Moment . . .

Old Raider , Old Reavers , Old Hellion , Old Ravager

They appear on the right hand side in the "Have you got?" Section. But they don't actually appear to properly exist in the website, as there is no norma lpanel down the left-hand side.

So if anyone out there really wants these classic models, then they're still out there on the website. It allows you to add them to the cart, and proceed to checkout, but whether you would actually get the models I don't know. Anyone care to try it? =p

Yes. The new DE are just a group hallucination! Really they just repackaged the old models and upped the price a bit and made everything think they were new! We all fell for it!

They obviously had so manyn left in stock that they just don't want to stop selling them. Tbh, I would much rather have the old Raider . . . So I might have to buy a couple. And then if it doesn't work I can moan and complain to GW . . . one of my favourite things to do. =p

Whats a good loadout for an army of DE?

I've got my old 3d edition one that I'll have to pull out of mothballs, so what are the upgrades?

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

That'd 'be best to ask in the tactics area.

Frankly if they have excess stock I wouldn't be surprised that they're still selling the old raiders.

Haha, it's funny how worked up we can get over plastic action figures sometimes.

The new models will be quite useful. Most people are finding some kind of replacement or proxy for the Grotesques and Wracks, but I think the major one will be the Chronos.

Whilst it's slated for a Homonculi army, it doesn't have much use in one. In one of those armies, you just have so many pain tokens to start with, that it doesn't provide much more. I think it will find more use in a WWP kabalite or wych army.

i defently see the potentiol of the cronos. lets say you shoot with both weapons on a enemy causing atleast one kill per gun thats two pain points you can give too a ....unit then you assualt with the cronos and the...unit. first you fight the battle with the cronos and kill again atleast one model then ....unit has 3 pain points by just doing nothing and has now a way better chance of killing the unit they assualted
