Thanks folks,

So I have gone and converted two Seraphim to make a pair of Geminae Superior to escort my Celeste. I also gave Celeste a larger base.

Thank you mcmattila and Nevelon,

Now doing up another Canoness.

Customizing her with a Storm Bolter and Eviscerator...however I think that the regular eviscerators are gone from the CA list...which would make it a Chainsword. :(

Nice work on the Seraphim, and the Canoness is coming together nicely. Love your rich, smooth reds.

It's amazing how well those old Sisters models have held up. Sleek, detailed, and to me, one of the standout ranges to actually capture the feel of 40k. Good stuff!

Thank you tzurk and amazingturtles,

Converted Canoness is pretty well done.

So the Storm Bolter allows the Canoness to keep up fire at a range in line with the Sister squads around her.

Obviously the model pose does not lend itself to holding the Storm Bolter in two hands, so I built a smaller version...even so it is still quite large.

Nice conversion, storm bolter is a good pick as with the new SoB rules they look to be pretty solid choices.

Thank you Inevitable_Faith and Camkierhi,

So I took photos with two different backgrounds (blue and white) and I am wondering which looks better.

Here are Geminae Superia converted from metal Seraphim and Seraphim Superior models with the white

You have already seen the blue.

Which actually presents the models better?

Thoughts?

I like them better with the blue background, great stuff as always.

A ton of armies and a terrain habit...

Hey,

Just now tuning in.

Your army looks really good.
I especially love the older rhino chassis and the Exorcist conversions are amazing!

Blue .

Personally I prefer black or white backgrounds (they are colour neutral) but the blue background has certainly made the colours on the models pop much more and show up clearly. The same could be achieved on a white background but you'd have to play with camera settings to get the colours to pop since white backgrounds tend to flare lighting and wash the colours out. For simplicity I say blue is the easier background.

I’ll toss another vote for the blue.

Very nice looking ladies there, on either background.

Thank you Ezki, I finally broke down and got some of the new vehicles here on Dakka, but have not started assembling them yet.

Thank you dracpanzer, Camkierhi, Inevitable_Faith, and Nevelon for the thoughts on colour. The only challenge with the Blue is that my flesh tones seem to vanish...likely because they are so light.

The black highlighted with blue looks very good - I need to do that more often, especially with the white hair. Classic!

Nice Work Captain B, it was really interesting to see the different between the Models on the white and blue background. They look really good when you can see all the detail on them

Your SOB Army looks great and nice to see them getting some action on the battlefield.

Thank you Midget Gems.

The completed Canoness conversion, did some final work on her face and some touch-ups on her chains.

Next up is another Canoness getting similar treatment, but she will have the Relic Sword.

Did the second Canoness.

Again built a customer Storm Bolter to let her add her fire to nearby squads.

Digging those Canoness models. I think sticking with the blue background is the right move.

Dysartes,

Thanks. The storm bolter is made from an Ork Shoota magazine and trigger parts and one side of a Imperial Guard Tank Accessory sprue Storm Bolter.

This shot of the two of them might help as you look at the Storm bolter from the side.

Painted up a regular Bolter armed Sister and a Storm Bolter armed Sister.

Notice anything strange about one of the models?

Headswap on the SB?

I always think of Sister Badass pulling the pin on the grenade with her teeth when people talk about the advantages of multipose plastics. Sure, you get customization and variety, but you are never going to be able to recreate some things that you can only get in monopose sculpts. I’d love to be proven wrong. They could make a bespoke arm/shoulder/head bit to recreate her. But I fear that new players may never know the joy of having that particular characterful model in their armies.

Nevelon's keen eye has spotted the change. The Sister with the Storm Bolter has had a head swap with a Seraphim Sister Superior.
