Three acolyte squads built. Two all stormtroopers. One is 4 plasma (think that legal, may be better splitting plasma across squads). Plan to colour the little shields on berets for squad markings.

Anvil industries where great. One set of legs where missing and a replacment was sent out in seconds. The only issue is grenader legs, which dont fit the torsos. I think they are older models, and its made clear they need work on the website.

I think the heavy armoured legs would fit the torsos brilliantly, but to get the grenader legs to fit i had to shave the bottom of the torsos down, and remove pouches. I then pinned torsos and filled gaps. Putting pouches on torsos to hide bits i cut off. Would prob advise others to go for other legs in the range, but i love the knee pads.

Slow work proceeds. All reds done, green begins.

Hopefully get some greatswords off ebay soon so i can build some more inquisition.

Another 3 hoods sculpted. Annoyingly better than first 3, but hey ho. Not going to bother going back and resculpting. Gave first 3 a wash so i can see faults and smooth them down.

More work done on acolytes and inquisitor. No idea what gun to give him. Any suggestions? Was thinking just gice a bolter or storm bolter but incinerator could be cool.

Thanks, i'd promised myself to move on from squats but couldn't resist adding a inquisition inspired squat squad.

Got my anvil industries order in, and threw together two models to see what my acolytes will look like. Love the balaclava heads, and part of me wishes i used them instead of hoods for my combat acolytes, but the hoods will tie them into my redemptionist inquisitors.

2 acolyte squads done. Fighty squad and shooty squad. Liking anvil arms for guns, but the axe packs are pretty disapointing. No where enough arms on avaiable sprues so you need to buy loads extras. Would advise avoiding them

Squat acolytes are now done, and even got some painting done. Greens finished.

Got the dark green done, getting closer to done.

Bit more painting done, and I managed to practice highlights of dark angels green on my powerfist models.

First Inquisition squat painted. Famcied a break from bulk painting.

Suprisingly hard to get a good colour scheme for the inquisition, as trying to get away from anything too Spanish inquisition or supremacist. Seem to have ended up with TMNT foot soldiers.

In any case its nice to paint blue tones rather than earthy colours. Now schemes sorted will get round to other 6.

Arms painted. Chilled painting listening to ratkings 700 fill. Nice beats to paint to.

I am hoping that I can paint my little army to a similar standard... but 9 miniatures doesn't make an army (that's as far as I've got at the moment).

Thanks. Think your army's twice the size of mine so painting it may be quite the task, but the pride that comes afterwards will be worth it.

My advice is that you switch between the different ranges you have used to avoid boredom setting in. That and maybe paint heroes individually to a higher level for a change of pace. It's a thankless task but worth it in the end, and your off to a good start. At least you have some great sculpts to paint, whereas In having to paint to cover sloppy sculpts.

Chopping up some classics. Plan to turn hearthguard into crusaders, but needed to remove the silly bits like horns, and added more face plates. Love plastic squats but some of the metal ones are just a bit too much. Their less cartoony and fantasy looking now, and the excess decoration will look good amongst my inquisition list.

The servitor will be a priest with eviserator.

Getting further with the paint. Decided on Orange rather than red for the plasma/sword to make it a bit different from other squats. Kinda regret it as its hard to get a good coat done, but should work in the end.

Finally finished a paintjob. Inquisitor squat and acolytes .

Used a different colour palette to mix things up. Blues and purples, with Orange to yellow power weapons.

I'm guessing the Inquisitor is the one with the sword?

Yeah, he's also the only one with armour, which seems fitting for the inquisition.

I view him as more of the muscle than the guy in charge, so didn't want him to stand out from his squad too much. Got some fanatic redemptionists I aim to use for Inquisitors, and aim to use the pope looking one destined to be the big boss.

Used a spare scion body to build him up.

Plan to make an inquisition guard list, with a mix of necromunda, squat,and empire great sword conversions.

Finally got dark angels green sections highlighted. Just black and metal to go.

Also stripped some eBay winnings.

It gives me a less kitsch psychic. I have a living ancestor for my inquisition list, and you can really see a difference between them.

I don't know squat about Squats but you make them look really cool. You have a couple mighty old GW paint pots on your shelf there. Are they still viable? Haven't seen those since I was a teenager.
