And now...

This was a very special project, for a very special girl. Emerson is currently fighting leukemia like a BOSS! Her dad is a good friend of mine and when Emerson took a liking to the Sons of the Phoenix space marine chapter, he asked if I would paint a model for her in that scheme. She chose a Redemptor Dreadnought as the subject and it has been a great honour for me to paint it for a girl who, despite everything she has been through, is never without a smile on her face. A true warrior.

My take on the event exclusive Lieutenant (cloak sculpted by Dawn Crusade):

I've taken a short break from my painting guides to finally make a start on my Shadowspear models. When Intercessors were released I thought Space Marines couldn't get any better – but then along came the Vanguard...

It's been nice to get back to the Raptors and try out some tweaks to the scheme I had in mind for these models. This is a test model so I hope you like what I came up with!

I had the opportunity to return to my first love again recently and paint my rendition of Tolmeron. I always liked this model but as I don't have a BA army anymore (sniff), a giveaway for my Instagram followers was the perfect excuse to paint him

At this point I’d say your foundations are at the point where there doesn’t seem to be a scheme that is outside of your abilities. Not sure what the next step is to keep pushing into new things is.

One weird note though, is the upper flat side of the power sword much brighter than the other or are my eyes simply deceived by the beauty of your work?

It's annoying I want to send you models just to see you paint them. Good thing you are over seas and shipping is expensive (for me).

Lieutenant Cerrin is fantastic! There's a nice contrast between the gleaming power sword (it even lights up the ground ) and the otherwise muted colours.

First completed model of 2020 – a Phobos Lieutenant for my Raptors army. This is another model from the Shadowspear box that I’m slowly (but happily!) working my way through. I did a very minor conversion to swap the head with the captain from the same box.
