Hi! This was asked last august (i searched!) but there was no answer in the thread: Do winged Hive Tyrant take a dangerous terrain test when landing in difficult terrain? I'd say yes since: a)As per Codex:Tyranids; Winged creature are treated as jump infantry in all respects b)The Monstruous creatures section of BGB doesn't say anything about MC not making Dangerous terrain test, just re-rolling difficult terrain test. So, do they test, and if yes, do they get a re-roll? Does the synapse rule give it only one wound instead of being removed? This is very important, since in COD I tend to see lots of Tyrants jumping from cover to cover! ***edit*** my bad, missed dangerous terrain test don't remove the model, they simply inflict one wound... Ignore that part of the question!!! Phil

AFAIK, you only ever take one wound from a failed dangerous terrain test, synapse or no. I see Crisis suits doing this all the time, they just eat a wound if they need to.
Flyrants *do* take dangerous terrain tests, and they don't get a re-roll (dangerous /= difficult). But they only take one wound from a failed test.

Only Greater Deamons are immune because their rules say so. (Though the disparengy in mind boggling)

I believe that all independant characters have the expert rider/flyer/whatever skills according to the big book so wouldn't he get a reroll for the dangerous terrain.
Just because he is a MC, doesn't mean he isn't a IC too. . .

They can choose to walk into the terrain if they so choose. They can only move 6'', though.

Just because he is a MC, doesn't mean he isn't a IC too. . . Actually, TMCs are NOT ICs. Which is important, as they ARE scoring units.
