Here's the deal, in casual play I get people to concede or look at being wiped out on turn 4,5,or6

I recently went to a tournament and went 3-0. What I noticed and didn't like was that I was always hideously outnumbered. Every opponent had around 45 models to my 29. And if I screwed around or made a mistake (of which I did both in my first two games) I could seriously lose a chunk of my army and be on the ropes for the rest of the battle. In my 3rd game I played perfectly against a walking khornite army with 3 predators, scoring a wipe out on turn 5.

The wraithlords with Eldrad guiding them are amazing at infantry killing, and they suck beyond belief against a powerfist squad (compared to before their nerf) The fire prism I expected to be the big cheese as it was in casual play, but in the tournament setting it was nearly worthless (we had an enourmous amount of terrain and most of it being 4+, lots of city boards and trenches) My bikes were pretty much worthless. My fire dragons in the serpent were nice in all 3 games and were well worth the investment of a serpent. The harlequins were victums of badluck in my first two games. Game 1 I had them locked in combat iwth his HQ, and decided I ddn't need my wraithlord to wander inthe combat and kill the HQ so I attacked the landraider that had rushed over to drop off his hq last turn. A penetrating 6, killed most of my harlequins (bad bad luck) and in game 2 a blood angel librarian raging max distance witha familiar was just lucky enough to  reach my harlequins on turn 1 and do major damage (and run them down) he had bottom of turn1, I thought I was safe at 22" away. again it was a risk, but I was 90% sure I was ok. In the last game the harlequins killed a chaos lord, 2 beserker squads and a bloodletter squad. Overall they are worth it, but require some work to keep safe. Oh and Eldrad.... Amazing!

I'm looking for suggestions on how to increase my model count and durabilty (so I can play dumber and get away with it)  I am considering mech eldar, but prefer a hybrid list with walking and flying elements because I find it more fun. I have yet to play against nids or drop pod marines, both of which I'm concerned about.

thx

btw the most often comment I heard at the tournament was... "Is that your entire army?!"

A single Fire Prism really doesn't seem all that worthwihle. Sure, it's fast, and offers very good VP-denial, but by itself, it's not going to get to shoot too often. You could swap it for a Falcon, and put your Fire Dragons there, instead of the Serpent.

Eldrad is pricey. Very useful, but hard on the model count. Replace him with a normal Farseer, and you save quite a few points, too.

Combine the Serpent's points and Eldrad's points, and you pick up enough to do...something. Not sure what'd fit you best, though. If you want some foot-traffic, a couple smallish guardian squads are fairly cheap, and boost model count.

You *could* dump the Guardian jetbikes entirely, but I think that'd end up as a very different-feeling army.

It's a strong list in the hands of a capable person. Eldrad is worth every point and the lower model count, combined with the mobility of the rest of the army makes his "movement" even better.

The only thing I would change is the weapons layout on the Wraithlords. You've got enough anti-vehicle (rending, spears, dragons, and prism) and while a BS4 lance is attractive, I'd put the Scatter/Star on the WLs. This would make the WLs a bigger threat. Then again, if you're 1500 right on the nose, don't change anything if you've managed to "massacre" opponents.

Funny how your list seems very similar to mine. Try swap out your heavies for 2x Falcons and an Avatar.

You say that in your second game a BA lib managed to get to your line turn one, if you spaced yourself so that you are 24' apart that would have been impossible (remember, its a 24' 'gap', so the libby should have fallen short by a fraction of an inch), so it can be concluded that your spacing was shorter than required or the libby moved further than he could have or you allowed him to charge even when he should have been out of charge range.
The whole purpose of this 24' gap thing is to deny 24' range weps to hit anything and to stop first turn charges

Nothing ventured, nothing gained

In that game the BA player forced me to go first. It was a center board objective type mission. On my go I moved up a bit, hoping that he' moved up or be forced to move up, I wanted to start squad hoping, but I hadn't expected him to do the rage quite as well as he did. In fact during the game only 3 squads raged. The librarian and his attached assault squad, and later the Master with his attached assault squad. One for 6" the other for 5", both were devastating. I only won because I tied one up with my wraithlord and the librarian (who was stuck with his squad in the open) I blasted to bitz, and then I landed a wave serpent between two buildings right on top of the objective preventing him from running up and grabbing it. VP wise I lost nearly everything, battle-point-wise I won. He was easily the toughest opponent to play against. Our initial deployment was absolutely correct and we both played absolutely correct.

Nikeforever, you have jetbikes now? I know  you got Eldrad I gave you my spare model! The avatar he makes my models fearless, but the question is do I care if my jetbikes are fearless? I do care if my harlequins are fearless or not, but eldrad pretty much shuts down Librarians so no biggie. So I'm not sure the avatar helps.

Whats the thought on taking 4 shining spears with exarch, starlance and withdraw?I'm pretty sure I can get better utility out of them than the prism, I'd just have to deal with the addtional frailty.
