Distilled from the 20+ page Warseer thread:

Chaos Codex (all in one) - September/October 2007 with plastic Chaos Teminators and maybe a plastic Lord kit around the same time...

Warseer member Templar Ben had this to add:

"Okay I was not able to get any pics. I saw the sprues for the Chaos Terminators. Basically it is the same as the plastic ones for loyalist but with spikes and tusks and stuff. They kept talking about a Tzeentch unit but turns out it is going to be for Fantasy. So sorry guys. Not much to add."

(Lots of people begging for details...)

"Sorry. I am in the Central US timezone so I just posted and left because I went to bed. I wasn't trying to hide. I had said 2 weeks ago that I was going to see it and I would try to get pics. I wasn't able to and I wanted to say I was sorry if I got anyone's hopes up.

There was a big skull on the shoulder pad. They look like they will go together like the space marine terminators which makes sense. They are going to be the same size. There were some things that look like wierd growths which I guess are to make them mutated looking. I saw a head that looked like a terminator with short tusks and I didn't know that such a head was currently used. A buddy was there too and I will see if he got some pics to upload because let's face it, that is what I would want to see. Not some guy trying to describe it."

(Templar Ben is asked where he saw them)

"Memphis. I work down the street from the Mill."

(buzz buzz buzz...)

"Has anyone talked about the new plastic chaos demon models coming out? I really don't want to look through the last 20 pages but I don't want to mention something everyone already knows."

(gasping and swooning)

"Well they told me (they being the guys working on the machine) that they are going to do 4 demons in plastic. Now forgive me but my only Chaos army is fantasy and they are all mortals so I may not have the names right.

Demonettes (he said they have claw hands like they used to whatever that means)
Plaguebearers
Bloodletters
Horrors

He also said something about working on a flamer that is like a horror but is currently in a blister?? Sorry I am rather new so a lot of that stuff I didn't fully follow.

They wanted to do something called a screamer?? but something happened. He said they are doing runs now so I guess that means this summer or fall right?

Then again he may have been messing with me since I had no idea what he was talking about."

(questions asked about the codex)

"I don't think they print the books anywhere near here. Sorry.

Just molding work and such. And just to make sure everyone is clear I don't work for GW and I am not totally clear on all of the models as I am rather new to the game. I just happen to work near the mill for International Paper.
>They had some chainfists and something that looked like a big cannon. I am sorry, I really didn't know what to look for. I was hoping to get some pics because then you guys could really see and would know better than my description."

Plastic Daemonettes? Yes please.
Stay tuned...

Plastic Daemonettes? Too bad. They're perfect as they are. Unless the make them the same, but plastic. The "they have claw hands like they used to" comment has me worried.

I hope he goes back camera in hand.

I have nothing useful to add.

A comment was made that they probably would be scanned from the current ones. Let's hope that if they're new sculpts, Juan does them again. I'm picturing sprues like the dryads. drool...

If daemonettes go back to having those horrendous (in comparison to what we have now) rock crab claws, then that kit will surely be a bust.

Plastic is awesome, but if the kit is subpar, then it wont be received very well in comparison to being atleast as good as the current sculpts.

Especially when the metal sculpts were as cool as the Daemon ones. I mean they are all very decent imo.
I hope these Terminators are not only chaosified ordinary ones, because this evil space marines theme of chaos makes yawn pretty intensly.

Wait and see... Thanks for destilling, Elusive71!

Currently they just have those weird spikes which don't seem right either, but some of the art shows them wielding weird crab-claw / jaw-bone hybrid pincers, so maybe it'll be something like this:

Crabby clawed demonettes? *vomit*

Like Elusive posted though? I could go with that, though honestly that just looks like a better detailed version of the current metal gals 'hands' ... which is mostly is, 'cept bigger too

I don't know about plastic demons in general, that's mostly kinda weird. I guess I welcome it, because it'll be easier to clean the moldlines and such, but I can't imagine how that's going to work with all the detail and gribbly bitz on demons now. Plastic termies make me happy though, w00t for that, glad I waited instead of half-a$$ing some loyalist -> chaos conversions. Then again, the CSM plastics are kinda worse for CSM then loyalist plastics with conversion work, so we shall just have to see.

Thanks Elusive, you the man/fish.

I liked the old ROC Daemonettes, though the new ones are just fine if you get enough knife arms  and do not end up with a daemonette that has 2  dessicated phallic arms waving around.

A little more from Templar Ben:

"I forgot to say that the chain fist is like for punching not karate chopping.

It may be someone on this thread already but they said that they are going to go from an 8 man box to a 10 man box and have a sprue that has an icon or something to demons. There will be five of them sort of like a standard with one for each god and a generic chaos one. The price is currently $25 and with the new box it will be $35. I presume the price will be the similar around the world.

Morley also showed what he had done with a new bezerker but I don't think that is coming anytime soon because of where he was in the process. It is one thing to see a sculpt and another to have the guy on the line tell you he is making them."

Ahhh Morely....nice to see GW still throwing people who dont deserve to hold sculpting tools a bone now and then.

Meh if he is sculpting berserkers, then no harm no foul.

Kinda funny how he is sculpting berserkers, especially since they have a plastic kit (assuming he is sculpting them for a plastic kit) when other more deserving areas need that petroleum by product touch.

More stuff from tmplar ben:

Well It was mostly greenstuff with a bezerker head which I guess is in the box. He had a cape on and an axe. There was a big skull on his shoulderpad. I don't know much more than that. But if it is just a sculpt it wouldn't be made for a year or so.

Oh yeah, I asked about the book itself. (I seem to only post about models in a thread about the book.) I was told that there would be Lost and the Damned but the army is much better than what there was before. I was also told that cults would not be included. I am not sure what the difference is but I think you guys may.

Christ. Plastic daemons? Why? I can think of many, many other kits that need done in plastic before the excellent demons that came out only a few years ago need to be "redone" into plastic where, if any of the recent kits are to be exemplar, they will have worse details, be even more fragile, and molded with extra thick mold lines/injection marks that further destroy the miniatures aesthetic values and force anyone that doesn't like having goopy detailed toys to work harder carving out undercuts than it would take to simply clean & assemble a metal figure. Damnit. Go work on Orks, Dark Eldar or something, anything, but plastic freaking demons. Plastic Chaos Termies I get. Why not plastic Oblits (snicker), or a plastic Demon Prince kit? Plastic demons just sounds like another waste of limited resources on something that already exists in excellent form and isn't in need of replacing.

Chaos sells, Orks and DE don't. GW is just going where the market is. It doesn't seem wise in the long-run, I agree.

I've decided to leave my Dwarfs at 1000 points mostly because I was getting tired of trimming mold lines.

Morley's making new Berzerkers?

There's two problems with that idea.

1. Morley's making models again. That's scary.
2. They're making new Berzerkers?

So, plastic Daemons and Berzerkers, two sets of models that just don't need to be redone. What a waste... I'd take plastic Chaos Termies and a Plastic Lord, and a reshuffling of the Chaos Marine Box (more weapon options) and maybe plastic Havocs. Other than that, leave the models alone.

I believe the demonetts are getting redone to make them more 'family friendly'. And it makes sence since that is just one army that little kids just shouldn't be getting. But for us older gamers, its a blow to the line. Daemon boxes will become rarer as the new plastic boxes get closer to release. I just have to wait and see.

I wonder if this sighted supposed new Berserker is actually a Khorne-themed lord, or something along those lines. The guy said it had a cape, after all, and I'm just not seeing an entire unit of Berserkers with capes (though I wouldn't be too surprised... Gotta bling up those marines.)

Ya know what's truly funny? The fact that I have not met one person that has liked Morely's miniatures....including Fitz and Jes Goodwin who have talked all kinds of crap about that guy. And as far as I know he is still HEAD of the metal design team. QUALITY CONTROL is a good thing especially when you are the "BMW" of the industry. I think plastic daemons is a great idea personally , could not agree more as far as them needing to better use their resources to redux other forces that are just crap. Do you ever get the feeling that this is going to be a codex release that people who don't play the army are going to be happier with the new book than people who do play the army?

I think it's going to be a lot like the Eldar release in that regard. :p

*defecation noise*

As I finally finished my Noise Marine squad and have started on my 1k Sons squad of my Undivided army, I can only weep bitter tears of anger at this.  I was sure things had swung back to One Chaos Book to Unite Them All, not 2-5 Chaos Books Over 3-4 Years for Maximum $$$.  If this is the current way of things, then once again I am a sad and whiney chaos lord.

On the demonettes, I love the current ones, tentacles and fun bitz included (but not their mold lines).  I feel for those with little kids with inquisitive hands and minds, but I for one was overjoyed when the more adult-oriented 'nettes came out back when.  I guess I will just note how sad it is when a new GeeDub release spurs me to hit eBay up for the models it replaces instead.  I do have 18 demonettes already, but it's the principle of the thing .

Up your nose with a rubber hose.

While plastics in general aren't as aesthetically pleasing as their metal counterparts, I like the prospect of plastic daemons for ease of conversion.

As for the proposed new daemonettes, I don't think there's been any indication that they will be more familiy-friendly, and personally I'm hoping that they'll basically be modular versions of the Juan Diaz sculpts. I've said it once and I'll say it again, any parent who has more problems with some bare boobies than with the violent imagery of the game, needs to have their parenting license reconsidered.

Plastic termies make me happy though, w00t for that, glad I waited instead of half-a$$ing some loyalist -> chaos conversions.

Me too.  I'm just gonna wait until I can buy GW's half-a$$ed loyalist -> chaos conversions instead.

Redoing the daemons in plastic is slowed.  The daemonettes and horrors are already perfect, and the plaguebearers and bloodletters aren't bad either.  My predictions?  The new daemonettes will have big honking crab claws and will look totally pants (and they'll be wearing pants too).  The new plastic horrors will be horrible (I'm talking CSM Possessed bad), but their rules will be totally awesome.  I'm going to go buy some boxes of the metal ones while I still can.

Since they've been on a real "no more variant rules (except for our favorite 4 SM armies)" kick lately, maybe they'll just make the 4 cult legions into generic CSM with different colors?  Paint your CSMs red and you've got World Eaters, blue and you've got Thousand Sons, etc, etc.  That would be totally awesome.

FOR ME TO POOP ON!!!
