I've been all over the net looking for 'em, but I can't seem to find the old tank figure cases that Games Workshop used to manufacture as of a few years ago (back in 2005).  Are there any alternatives to it?  I'm not sure how I'm gonna carry around a Defiler or Leman Russ tank to a Battle Bunker without one.  I've heard of people magnetizing bases to their cases . . .  Anyways, wouldn't the spikey bits of the Defiler break off?

P.S. I haven't gotten around to 40k (or DakkaDakka) because of time management issues, but now I'm back and learning again!

My FLGS still stocks a GW tank case...

Anyway, Sabol's Army Transport has foam that that you can adjust to custom-fit your tanks.

Most other case manufacturers also have 'tank sized' trays for their systems.

The tank cases with the red clips and the green and red cases out this past year are gone, from what I have heard. Any you see in a store are the last remnants of stock.

GW is stupid for not selling the foam trays for those cases separately.

.Only a fool believes there is such a thing as price gouging. Things have value determined by the creator or merchant. If you don't agree with that value, you are free not to purchase.

At the time they were produced, both the tank case, and the larger case with half tank, half regular foam, were both splash releases. Meaning, so many get made, and when they are gone, they are gone. The smaller cases lasted a year or so, the larger only a few months. They might or might not be back in the future.

Personally, I liked them and could continue to sell them at my shops, but if not available through GW, that's pretty much it for them. Sabol army transports, and the Sabol motor pool are both very good alternatives, better in some ways, but without the hard plastic case.

....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.

And there is always the generic 4-pistol hardshell gun case, available at such fine retailers as Wal-Mart, usually for under $10. I find that if you remove the middle layer of foam, large tanks and so forth fit quite securely.

He's got a mind like a steel trap. By which I mean it can only hold one idea at a time;
it latches on to the first idea to come along, good or bad; and it takes strenuous effort with a crowbar to make it let go.

Can't beat pistol cases. You can load up tanks, irregular minis, terrain, entier EPIC and BFG armies, and even pistols (for when the rules disputes get out of hand, or you have top catch your own dinner at some fo those two day tourneys).

-"Wait a minute.....who is that Frazz is talking to in the gallery? Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG

A guy at a store I used to frequent kept his entire gunline IG in a K-Mart rifle case.  It was roughly 1' x 4'  and single layer.  His tanks were in a pistol case.  Just take out one layer of padding so you don't totally squish 'em.
