Here is an idea I have to make pure Deathwing armies playable. It is simply to copy what was all ready done for the Ravenwing. For every squad of deathwing terminators chosen, you may also take a Dreadnought that occupies the same slot on the force org. chart.

 

Would that work at all to fix the Deathwing?

Difficulty-termies teleport, but dreads may only approach via drop pod. Would be interesting to have a teleported dread, if just for fluff.

Sure if they reduced the price of the dread. Ass cannons on dreads arent that big of a deal. in fact, I would go so fffar as to say that the dread is the most innocuous of the terrible four that can carry an ass cannon.

That or they could have left the deathwing alone. Now theres a good fix.

Or just add the option to add an additional 5 termies for 200 points and if so an additional heavy weapon may be taken. It isn't perfect but it makes you pay for the bonus of having 2 asscans. Interestingly enough it would only cost 30 points more than the same unit taken from C:SM.
