I find their resin okay to good, not fantastic. Detail is good, but there's bubbles and they haven't figured out they need to make some of the parts metal on smaller models (which is why Special Volume has been a popular rule lately...). It helps that the resin is pretty hard, but it does demand a little sharper knife than most I've worked with to clear mold lines. Injection points are pretty numerous but mostly okay. A few "detail or flash?" moments, but the final models turn out quite good overall.

Some of your concerns are definitely unique though. I'm not 100% sure of the usual quality of the Joker box, as its overall pretty old at this point (half the contents are their first gen resins from the launch of 2nd) but Knight has been much better about responding to replacement requests in the last few months.

Mostly, on my phone.

KM Customer service has improved considerably, as the QC. As long as you have the order number, they're pretty decent.

Some more info on new set:
£115 RRP.
The new fast-play quick start rules with with boxed traits on cards.
The buildings are reskins of the squad ones.
The tumbler and batpod are equipped like the Penguin's Duck or Lobo's Hawg.
I'll try to answer any other questions, I'm getting the first UK review copy in Monday in theory, though 3 of the playtesters will have copies at Salute this weekend.

Of note, I had a request submission to part in hand in under a week recently without an order number (since I bought it from a store). They're definitely getting on top of things it seems.

I've visually checked all the resins I've bought (all Ltd Ed releases), and whilst it's not as thorough as actually cleaning and assembling, I noticed no significant casting issues.

Time will tell when I get into them and/or buy some of the normal game pieces though.

I just need the trio of cops for my GCPD force...

...that I still haven’t played once since the new edition. Man I need to make time to get a game in with the local Batman group.

I have had quite a few miscasts but I have brought a lot of models. Some have been replaced, other requests have been ignored by customer service.

I am still waiting on a reply to my ticket (and several chasers) since last September when one of my packs was missing a model. It was the last straw for me and on principle I am not picking up any new models until they fix the issue which saved me a load of money during the Black Friday sale.

Just getting back into some BMG (admittedly, with the minis from Gotham City Chronicles... ) and thus catching up to 2nd edition, I've noticed a few rules that seem to have either been omitted from or come along later than the Compendium document. Special Volume I can find no mention of, and the new Penguin's Dealer trait also seems absent. Is there an up-to-date repository of such things, or are they just covered with the minis they come with?

Must admit I'm awful tempted by the new Ledger Joker, it has all the same menace and style of the old one but without the oversized head...

Special Volume is typically listed on the new cards (for newer models), which are often two sided and include the units special rules. IE Talia in the new set on the reverse of her card has "Special Volume S: This model uses a base of 40mm but has the same height and rules as a model on a 30mm base. Also this model gains +1 to its basic movement distance." I would assume that Penguin's Dealer Trait is on his card or in the box.

Ah, ok, cheers for the info. The downloads for the cards don't seem to have that section, just the front, so I guess I'll just have to work around those particular rules. I'm only playing casual narrative games, so it shouldn't be too big of an issue.

Actually, it looks like the individual model pages do have the backs, just not the Batbox ones.

It’s something they’re working on improving. They’ve moved to rules on the back of cards in place of the compendium which is a huge boost to playability. It requires putting card backs up on the site though which they’re just starting to do consistently on newer releases.

That's fair enough. It does seem that 2e and the changes they've made to the range and rules since I dropped out of the game a few years ago are far better in terms of accessibly and easy of use, so while the compendium is handy, I can see how putting it all on the cards is a good call.

Has anyone else had problems with the quality of Knight Models resin models?

I picked up a Joker Bat-Box on sale a while ago and I'm finally getting around to assembling it, and I don't think I've ever been more disappointed. Not only is it missing pieces, but the resin is really brittle (feels like the figures are cast in charcoal). Tons of flash, nothing fits together, messed up features (including one guy who had his face cast from two unaligned molds and another with half his face damaged beyond repair - completely unfixable). I'm ready to chuck the whole lot in the trash.

Did I get a bad batch, or is the quality always this bad?

Their resin and QC is pretty bad. I love the game and the metal models.
I had a few orders and always a bad cast or missing piece. The resin is very brittle.
Took two months to get an order with two additional shipments from them to try and fix.

I want to get a few more sets, but not wanting to roll the dice currently.

Was hoping the starter set was closer to $99. $150 will be harder to get new players in. For $100 I would have got it for the batman side and give the bane crew to a friend to get him started.

CL VI Store in at the Cyber Center of Excellence

Miniatures Market has the Starter Set for $127. Still more than $99 but better than $150.

MM is the only place I have seen it up for preorder? has anyone seen it anywhere else?

Is there any idea when it will actually be released?

Maybe for Europe, wonder why no one else has the preorder is MM the only place that sales batman anymore?

I know there have been issues with previous retailers and preorders where Knight didn’t make enough for everyone so was shipping to individual retailers at a time. So people had their orders in at shop A, but shop A didn’t get the new stuff right away while shop B did, so they canceled their orders at A and got their stuff from B. Then A finally gets their order in but now everyone already has it so they don’t sell much of it.

A lot of smaller (also larger) companies are struggling with distributors lately and pushing direct sales more. Resin seems to cater to more of an on demand production as well.

Eh, I think I’ve decided to bow out of the Knights Models past my Marvel ones. If anyone US based wants metal Batman, Nightwing, Robin, Red Hood or Deathstroke, PM me. $10 each.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

The Warstore used to carry KM. Looks like they don't anymore.

Gamenerdz carries most of the line, but I'm not seeing the new starter as a preorder.

Which part?

The brittle resin or the less then stellar customer service?

Both parts, the resin has seemed perfectly fine to me, except on very thin parts like staffs. Maybe a little flash heavy on a couple pieces but thats it.

Wonder Girl is scary as. Leto's gained Exhaustive planner, so is really interesting. Can't deny I'm stoked for Hawk (finally!) and Beast Boy - because currently we use this:

The way Gar’s powers work is really interesting. The only part I find extra weird is his hawk form is Large.

In addition to the three free forms, I hope they make additional ones later that cost points, like the T Rex.

Lol nice.

Hawk and Dove both have me pretty stoked, they look like a great combo to fit into a Team, Hawk especially being able to punch above his points Cost
