Again, Direct Only doesn’t refer to what is/is not stocked on WH Store shelves in the regular course of business. There are items GW does not mark Direct Only that might not be regularly stocked in WH Stores. The actual issue is under what terms those items are available to retailers.

Just so we're clear:
What does ‘Webstore Exclusive’ mean?
Products marked as Webstore Exclusive are only available to order from www.games-workshop.com. This means you can order direct from the webstore, or using the Order Points in all Games Workshop and Warhammer stores.
The independent retailers listed in the GW Store Finder also have access to these products through the Games Workshop Webstore.
So please feel free to casually dismiss my experiences, but remember that items that aren't stocked in GW shops are able to be ordered by Independents with potentially no issues. It's a common misconception that "Direct Only" means that independents can't order them.

Just so we’re clear:
Nobody here claims Direct Only items cannot be ordered by retailers. But those items are available to retailers under different terms than other items. Retailers are able to offer less or no discount on Direct Only items, as opposed to others.
That’s why it’s so important that this new M-E stuff is actually NOT Direct Only, whether or not your local WH Store stocks it, because the fact that it is available at 15% off from retailers is a part of the rejuvenation of this game.

Warhammer Store stock levels are controlled by their regional manager about what product they want to focus on. This is why you will not see many retail/trade items, and why you even see Direct Only items in Warhammer stores, most notably bags of bases.
Manchu is correct. the "Direct Only" tag just means that the product must be ordered from the website instead of normal distribution channels. As a retailer, you contact your rep and/or fill out an order form for trade items, and receive a massive discount. Anything Direct must be ordered through the website with their retailer login information at a slightly smaller discount, and ships separately from outside of the normal distribution chain.
Armies of the Hobbit was not Direct Only.
Regardless of everything else, Armies of the Hobbit did in fact appear in many official Warhammer stores to be placed alongside the rulebook and Armies of Lord of the Rings in their Middle-earth FSDU.

Sometimes those bags of bases are due to returns; I ordered a load of oval bases in to my local Warhammer shop to rebase some cavalry, and it turned out I ordered the wrong size. The packs I returned ended up in that shop's paint & tools section. I don't know if this is the case with miniatures too. In any case, it'll be a small proportion.

I'd say the chance of a white box item being on a Warhammer store shelf approaches zero. But specifically bases have been a staple of stores-carrying-Direct-only for a couple years since AOS.
Anyways, we're way off topic at this point!

Was the right hand guy the one who was at the head of the Orc group at Cirith Ungol that piles into the Uruks?
I can't place the Morannon. Nice to get more independent characters. Honestly, they just look like regular Orcs, but then the Jackson LOTR world was always far more grounded than traditional fantasy so it isn't like the Orc leaders are gigantic hulks in truly stand-out armour anyway. Nice additions for the baddies.

The armour's a bit standout compared to the rest of the Rohan range, but he is very nice overall. Although the curse of the face painter strikes again.

I mean, look at this:
Similar dark armour with gold trim and red accents underneath, virtually identical pauldron style and red banded chest piece, same blond haircut and beard (Elfheim has a bit longer but Jaime looks very close in scenes where he went a bit longer without shaving), very similar sword (with gilded hilt, too), and Jaime's most dramatic scene last season was horse charge with a spear against a dragon

Lol. Eomer, Theodred (?) and Theoden look like this for more than 10 years and way before this show. It fits well within the established range.
The model is on my list and I hope that he is not so big compared to the older Rohan models. And that maybe Déorwine will follow soon.

Considering that face is like a couple of mm I think that is a pretty great paint job.
