Seems a little short on anti-tank to me. I feel sorry for any horde armies you go up against. With all those shots horde armies wont stand a chance. Seeing as how it looks like the theme for this army is speed, I would suggest a Vyper with a bright lance to add a little ranged anti-tank. Maybe downgrade one warwalker to 2 shuri cannons and then throw in a vyper with a bright lance replacing the third war walker and using up the rest of your points. Just my two cents.

If you're wanting to run 'jetbikes' then here's my 2 cents.
Drop the 6man jetbike to free up points for: 1) Warlocks (ss, destructor) for the 2 other jetbike units, and 2) points to fit in a Fireprism (with basic goods) after dropping the 3x warwalkers.
This stays with your 'bike' build, gives you decent firepower and denial at the point limit. Movement is still your friend and you should try to avoid combat until the 3rd turn...however, this does not mean don't engage until the 3rd turn.

ok fluff for army its a craftworld that couldnt train any phycers after the fall cause they were all killed by the phycic shockwave when slanesh was created and they have become a nomadic group that have settled a some planet some where (basicly saim-hain but blue) so warlocks are out of the picture + the fire prisim would just be a huge fire magnet that might get 1 maybe 2 shots of in a game and then go boom but the vyper i might try because i do need a bit more anti-tank but i might use a missile launcher instead of bright lance

What if anything in this army can take a number of shots and still make it. I agree a Fire Prism makes sense, it can survive being fired upon. If you want more anti-tank get a falcon. If you want anti-tank but don't want to spend the points, well then at 750 a vibro cannon will be quite useful and very cheap for its points. I would run your bike units at 2 squads of 6, that way they can take 50% losses and still be quite viable. The squads of 3 I totally understand though, but if they lose 2 models they don't claim, and last man standing will have them running off the board in short order.

if you don't like vectored engines and holo fields I wouldn't even take a falcon. You SHOULD NOT take a brightlance with it as you already have a puslar laser, and if you move (which you really really want to do, you won't be able to fire both). If anything feild the falcon with a scatter laser and shurrican cannon, that'll give you 3 guns. At that point give it at least holofields so it won't be so easy to hurt. I personalyl get giiddy when I see a nekkid falcon like what you are proposing to feild. Keep your bike units in squads of 3 or 6. 7 doesn't help you at all. With the points saved you can update the falcon and have a very effective list. Although if you could find a way to squeeze the points to give both war walkers scatter lasers (2 each)

err... um... spirit stones... maybe drop the ELMS to scatter lasers and get spirit stones on the falcon, and um.. downgrade the starcannon to a scatter laser and get the shuricannon upgrade on the falcon. I wish there was another 10pts to squeeze out somewhere cuase I'd put spirit stones on the war walkers, but I don't see anywhere I'd take out 10pts. The reason to swap out the ELMS.... 2 shots vs 8 shots. against meq its about the same, against armor 12 vehicles you get a slight advantage and hordes .. well its just awesome. At higher point levels you can build a more well rounded list and then you want more AP type weapons to take out specialized units. The spirit stone on the falcon is key because holofields will nullify any glancing hits, but if you get stunned... holo fields don't really stop any penetrating hits. You never want to put your skimmer in a situation were it could possibly take a penetrating hit (this is especially important in deployment!) The spriit stones on warwalkers is nice, but not needed. They will get penetrated anyhow so the only reason to take them on the walkers is so you can still move them when they can't fire. And of course taking out the starcannnon on the falcon for a scatter and shurican cannon gives you another weapon to be destroyed, and when you fire all the guns its about as good as the starcannnon on the MEQ, but miles better against everything else in the game. You got my stamp on this list. Its there.

keep the EML, even with the unkillable falcon it doesnt give you quite enough anti tank on things like preds. I dont know about you, but even if there is only one id rather have more than just the pulse laser and fusion gun. Besides the missles are multi purpose.

Please put this on your sig if you know someone, work for someone or are related to someone who suffers from stupidity. Stupidity is real and should be taken seriously. You could be sitting next to a sufferer right now. There is still no known cure for stupidity and sympathy does not help. But we can raise awareness.... 93% won't copy and paste this because they don't know how to copy and paste |
