For those in the know can you order direct specific issues without being a subscriber?

Also, is there a list somewhere of each week's releases to date?

Yes you can although the best value issues tend to be sold out most of the time (they do get refilled periodically though) this is the UK site, https://hachettepartworks.com/warhammer-40000-conquest I guess AUS will get something similar

as to the releases to date the hatchett site has a list of the issues, or you can dig back through this thread. From the leaked (?) full Spanish contents list compared to whats out already in the UK different countries issues have a few with the contents switched around/different paints, but i'd imagine the AUS release will be largely similar

You may find the AUS release is an initial 4 week trial like the did in the UK with a later full roll out repeating those 4 issues (given free to those that subscribed)

I can confirm issue 1 is it in Aussie newsagents. Mine had them for $5 each. Going up to $20 for later issues

Further confirming the “leaked list” was probably some guessing to an extent.

36. Paint: Leadbelcher (base), <<Deathguard Green (base)>>, Macragge Blue (base)

The original list had these colours, then we got the Green in an earlier issue. The blue fits, but then two other colours..

Grabbed issue one just now. I don't really have a use for the models right now, although they may come in handy for a certain project I've been considering for a while... But for $5 for three pots of paint and a brush, it's worth it

We'll have to see how long my local newsagent keeps them in stock, for cherrypicking the useful issues...

I expect it will probably come sooner or later. Since it would go through a magazine distributor rather than GW's direct channels, it would just be down to how long it takes them to set that up.

Anyone know if this is actually available in NZ? I assume so from the price being shown but on the website it says that they can not ship it outside OZ.

It came with a NZ subscription form, so I would assume it must be available over there somewhere at some point.

If you have a similar system to how all these part works operate here in the U.K., be aware that they generally are only stocked for a handful of issues, then the assumption is you'll either subscribe or special order the, from the newsie.

Of course, down under might have different distribution or Conquest itself my be different, but you might not get to cherry pick without making an effort.

Well, they are resending my 23-26 which never came, so that’s good.
Just gotta wait for them to arrive.

Weirdly they also said in the same message that 27-30 will be sent 04/04. I thought it had already been sent.. by my sub dates etc.
so that may explain why they didn’t arrive. Maybe neither were sent..

It really depends on the newsagent, and whether or not they're selling down here. Or at least it used to... been a long time since I paid much attention. I'm not too fazed either way, though... there are a couple of things I wouldn't mind picking up on the cheap (dreadnought, blight drone, maybe some of the other plague stuff and some of the terrain) but nothing that I need enough to care if I don't get it.

There is no courage to be found here my nephews, no honour to be had. Your souls will join the trillion others in the mist shrieking uselessly to eternity, weeping for the empire you could not save.

To the unfaithful, I bring holy plagues ripe with enlightenment. To the devout, I bring the blessing of immortality through the kiss of sacred rot.

Hiding behind terrain

I picked up issue 1 and am a bit surprised at the quality. All the issues I saw looked like seconds. The paints and sprue were absolutely fine safe in their clampack, the brush looks cheap and nasty but the booklet and poster... both are scruffed along most edges, and the poster is even worn along the fold lines that were internalised within itself as if its been repeatedly folded. It even has what looks like damage from a water drop.

Its clear this is old UK stock that's been beaten up in a warehouse and then shipped abroad to be repacked as it contained both UK and AUS/NZ subscription pamphlets and GW shop locales pages.

Don't get me wrong. I love the paint and primaris marines for $5 and will likely grab issue 2 for $13 for the models but I don't think I'd pay the $20 they want each issue if the quality is like this.

Also, where does it say which magazine number onwards cuts off newsagents stocks for subscription only? Seen someone mention it but couldnt find any mention myself.

Expect them to be less available from issue #4 onwards, unless you reserve them. They, by all accounts, stop being sale or return, and unsold issues become dead stock for the shop. Not an issue with popular, big discount items, but unless the person ordering knows 40k, they won't be aware it sells like it does.

Dropbear Victim wrote:

It doesn't.... to start with. Newsagents can't return unsold stock though after #4, or so I'm told. Coming up to issue #5 there will be something like "Only available through subscription or order". It then starts to disappear from most stores. I believe GW stores also only stocked up to issue #4. This is based on how it went here, but expect it to be the same elsewhere.

I doubt it's old stock. It was sold out for ages, and until the price was bought in line with full price, practically unavailable despite multiple reprints.

Yea, don't expect to see many more of those, if any, as I think everything since then has just been loose in the 'bag'.

Though Issue 34 is wrong on that list for one.
It’s the Plaguecaster and co sprue.

(Also that Bloat Drone sprue And The DI ones in general, you can buy much cheaper than £25-30 on eBay and places..)

Yep, the items in red are yet to be verified at the time of posting on B&C but for the most part should be pretty close.

"Courage and Honour. I hear you murmur these words in the mist, in their wake I hear your hearts beat harder with false conviction seeking to convince yourselves that a brave death has meaning.

And to you, new-born sons of Gulliman, to you flesh crafted puppets of a failing Imperium I bring the holiest gift of all.... Silence."

Yeah I get that.
I’m just saying for anyone reading the list here, that 34 isn’t unverified now. As we know it’s contents.

I’m not sure how close the rest of the list will be though.
It could diverge wildly going forward, as the Spanish leaks were correct up to what would have been printed so far (several issues ahead), the rest could have just been a list of rough issue breakdown and they assumed it was an order, or something.
Not only have some contents been elsewhere, but even the particular paints in the issue have now started to vary.. (31 & 36 ended up having different paints for example)

So from what I read on the Conquest site, they ship 4 issues to you at a time.

How do they come shipped to you? In a box or just 4 issues rattling around your letterbox like you'd pick them up from the newsagents?

Deliveries that include the subscription gifts, the first Art Book and my latest delivery with a new binder have all been boxed.

Other deliveries have come with the individual bagged issues inside one envelope.

Hiding behind terrain

Bought a much neater issue at a different newsagent. This lot didnt have a AUD sticker over the pound pricing on card backing too.

I'm thinking I may get the 80 issues ordered through a newsagent to avoid dealing directly with hachette. Seems like many people have been screwed around by their lacking customer service so I'd like to avoid them if possible.

Still tempted to grab a couple more issue 1 for the paints. Might grab two issue 2 for test painting too.

If you order through a newsagent you'll miss out on the extras - not just the art book and binders that are charged for, but the free polystyrene cement, painting handle, clippers, mould line tool and brush set (in addition to the brushes included with some issues, subscribers also received a set of three additional brushes).

If you're not bothered by that, fair enough.

I will never deny that others have had issues with Hachette's service but when I have contacted them, I have always had a reply.

Having subbed from the start, I have never had a missed delivery and only one that was delayed.

The only cock up on their part was when I ordered an individual Calsius issue and received issue six instead. One email later and I received a Calsius issue by recorded delivery within a week. IIRC though, that was raised via Paypal as I used that method to pay for that issue.

Pending non-deliveries in the future, the only potential issue I foresee is when I contact them to let them know that I no longer want any binders as I'm probably only going to keep the fluff sections. I can't see those packing out more than two binders.

I assume that there are probably many more happy, silent customers compared to those who do have a legitimate grievance.

Interesting that one of your issues has a sticker over UK pricing as I'm sure most of mine have come with a one barcode fits all label on the back cover.

Had no problems with delivery beyond delays due to bank holidays and Christmas, so no need to contact customer services. There have been reports of newsagents not receiving their full order for the fortnight though, so unable to supply their customers.

It is worth considering the quantity of copies they are dealing with compared to the number of complaints, none of which I've heard about concerning this product range. The complaints I've heard about were for other ranges that were not such big money magnets, just look at the prices on ebay for full copies with contents or just the contents. There are people with multiple subscriptions just to sell on at a profit. Hatchette have, by all accounts, upped their game, and do react better and quicker now to damaged or missing issues and/or contents.

The deliveries do seem to sort of happen whenever for me, rather than to a strict schedule, but that doesn't bother me overmuch because I'm not banking on them, they're a fun surprise every time lol

The only legit errors I've seen from them were a) an accidental extra issue in one box, and b) delivering a back issue to an Irish address with a junk British post code even though their back issue order form very strictly says UK only.

In other words, no complaints from me.
