Hey Everyone,

I have not been around in a long time.  I used to frequent this website and I played a 40k tournament at the Dakka Dakka store a while back.  I tried calling but it said the phone was out of service.  I can't seem to find an email anywhere.  I was wondering if the store still exists.  Any help would be appreciated.

-Rob

P.S. I am talking about the Dakka Dakka store that was located in Manchester, NH, I believe it was 230 Commercial Street.

Hi Rob:

Sadly, the store has long since passed, first sold, then renamed, then closed. I'm sure The Russ-Gawd can fill you in on more of the actual details...

Guinness: for those who are men of the cloth and football fans, but not necessarily in that order.

I think the lesson here is the best way to enjoy GW's games is to not use any of their rules.--Crimson Devil

John and Russ and Nicole moved on to other family priorities, sold the store to Juan Rios (of Void Knights SM / league arbitrator fame) around summer/fall of 2004, IIRC. Juan in turn had to turn over the store, and another of the league regulars jumped into the breach to try and keep it going, around April/May of '05. That was Brad Geoffroy, one of the big regulars in the Warhammer league. Brad renamed it to Battlefield: Manchester, but was only able to keep the store going until October '05, when it finally folded. Alas. We may not see its like again.

Empire Games has been holding the banner for wargaming in Manchester, but will itself be closing its doors this June. Next closest locations to get in some games and/or ask about a summer job would be The Game Castle in Londonderry, or Collectibles Unlimited up in Concord.

Man I loved the Dakka store, hated moving away from it to the ATL. I remember scrambling the day it opened to finish the New Yarrick table with John W. That was a cool table, especially the way I made the city block tiles so they could shift around. The building were nothing special, I knew they'd be disposable and need work over time. Whatever happened to that table? I am thinking about remaking a 4x6 version for the War Room in Atlanta.

Does Wizard's Tower still exist? I still remember shelling the bejesus out of Ragnar with my RT era guard one of his first games of 40k there. An excellent gamer, he was kicking butt soon enough . . .*grin*

I actually just took up the game again recently, and was pleased to see Templars still around. Love that chapter, heck I even played them pre-Armegeddon as vanilla marines. In fact my Templar League Trophy when I beat Frank's Dark Eldar is still in my office. THAT was an epic game of 40k!

Good Times!!!

Wizards tower in Nashua closed back in Nov 2006 Lots of Gaming store closings in New England area gaming isnt what it once was sadly. Its a geographic slump according to some distributors.

Their are many other reasons stores are closing but I'm afraid its not the best time right now for the gaming community in the NE area.
