Haven't been blown away by any of the Warcrow stuff so far really, but the app integration for the dungeon crawler sounds really promising. Shame I have no interest in dungeon crawlers, really.
The galaxy is littered with the single-planet graveyards of civilisations which made the economically sensible decision not to explore space.

Got to admit the same. However that new beast they showed did grab my attention! That looks very twisted and cool

I think the main problem is that they're trying to sell a whole new world with single figure teasers. We're not getting any context to make the characters interesting without being able to see the setting their dropped into, so mentally they just get filed into generic fantasy tropes and forgotten. Of course, its possible that's all they are, but I haven't really been blown away either.

Also Infinity miniatures have great character and finesse while these seem just amateurish in comparison.
Infinity has established a very solid style for itself and their model quality has evolved a lot over time.
These new fantasy models, some kind of feel like they are going back to the early days of Infinity. Or that they are being made by designers who aren't quite yet sure or settled into the new designs.
I do agree that teasing out one model at a time can be a problem, even GW has issues with that if the one model teased isn't as popular. Or if the models look great in a unit together but less so when hyper focused on.

I entirely agree. The artwork is very early cartoony Infinity. Which is fine. But the lead up campaign has been waaaay too thin and spread out. A month or two blitz with new reveals every week would have had more impact I think.
I also question why they're going with the dungeon crawler first. I would have thought the skirmish game would get more interest and would bleed through to the crawler rather than vice versa.

100% agree, these reveals have just been slowly killing my hype.
As for why dungeon crawler before skirmish, they are releasing Warcrow as a kickstarter arent they? I dont have data to back this up, but in my experience, boardgames/dungeon crawlers typically bring in far more money than skirmish/wargames. The "collect/build/paint an army then battle your friend's army" part of the hobby doesnt seem to jive with the kickstarter model.
From a business perspective the way they're doing it does seem practical. CB probably cant afford to invest in an entirely new original IP miniatures game. Instead, they'll make a ton of money from a kickstarter dungeon crawler, then use that money to fund the skirmish game which becomes a new range added to the CB catalogue.

The issue with wargames and skirmish games can be multiple things. A big one is that the way they are pitched and the way people approach them means that you need at least 2 people backing locally to get a game and ideally more. It all hinges on the game continuing after the KS is over if you want to get more people in your club playing and even those that do continue after a KS can take ages to get into general production and shipping of product.
They also can cost more (or appear to on the surface) and the purchasing can be more complicated because you've got lots of different core parts and then factions and faction options etc..
Boardgame you get 1 box and you're done. You have everything in that box to play with however many players the game supports. Additional boxes are generally expansion packs so super easy - you get another box you get more expanded content and you only need one of each expansion box. Simple, easy and 1 person can buy and run it all locally at the club. No one else needs to buy in; you don't have to wait for things to go retail; you don't have a complicated purchasing system.
I think its no surprise that a lot of the models now are being sold through boardgames as PVC models. Even Infinity has run their last 2 campaigns that bolt onto Infinity, as fully stand alone Boardgames.
