Well, it's late, and I'm feeling nostalgic, so I thought I'd make a Necromunda list..... don't ask. Anyway, here it is, kinda makes me sad that my scavvies will only see the light of day as chaos mutants, and my orlocks will never be seen again.

I miss it too, though gangs got overly powerful and could take on 40k armies after a while. I liked mordheims set up more then necromunda though Necromunda did bring me into the hobby so it will also have a place in my heart.

As an after thought, why plasma pistols on the juves?
For each pistol you could have another juve. I always sent mine out naked until they got a few skills.

My game is just as good as their game and saner by reason of its size. Here is War, done down to rational proportions, and yet out of the way of mankind...

Not to mention that Plasma Pistols and Plasma Guns aren't available to Orlock Gangs...

I just got a batch of new Necro models today. A few old metal Orlocks and Goliaths, 3 Ratskins, some old Scavvies including the Spear Gun Scaly, and Karloth Valios. Nice models.

Too bad about the plasma pistols,  I believe that they can be obtained under the current rules if you give up your opportunites for Rare rolls at the end phase of the game, but obviously not in a starting list.  You can then buy weapons that are not on your house starting weapons list.  I'll need to dig out my new ruleset and give you a page number, it's somewhat obsure and hidden away.

I could post up some more of the campaign's newletters if people are interested? (previous ones were posted on the old boards under a thread called The Terminus Times)

I miss Necromunda too. If you're going to be playing necromunda on a starting gang, always always get at least one flamer - the auto hit is too valuable not to use.

Plasma pistols on juvies? Nah, get the autopistol! +2 to hit at short range, str 3, and ammo roll of 4+, can't go wrong for the 5? creds.

For Orlocks, I like to get 3 guys with lasguns, 1 with flamer, 1 with heavy bolter/stubber(Sustained fire rules in necro), a leader with a sword/pistol, and then fill the rest in with autopistol/knife juvies.

Cheers,
Reodd

Yeah Plasma Pistols on juves.... so what if they need a 5 or 6 to hit.... when they do, that pretty little leader of yours is going bye bye

Call me crazy, but I like shotguns. They're pretty cheap, and despite low range, have a nice amount of different ammo types. Then again, some of them are a waste.

Aye, but they cost hell loads for some pretty poor guys... I would rather have twice as many with worse weaponry myself....

and shotguns with manstopper rounds were the favourite for me. just the image of stopping someone running full speed towards you with one shot... *reminisces about the good old Nec days...*

I still have my Cawdor gang in their original gang box.

I had JUST gotten done painting the last of my juves during the campaign we were playing when people started losing interest and dropping out. This was probably due to the fact that 50% of the gangs were Spyres and every encounter was like being a bunch of snakes waiting for the hawks to drop down and eat you.

We made spyrers a GM only gang in our campaign we ran - it was all house gangs except for one group of scavvies. The Spyrers were only there for plot advancement.

Man I love Munda, I do frikkin miss it alot.

I have a HUGE Esher, Delaque, and Scavvy gang as well as Spyre ( which I never used, some are still in the blister ) as well as a buttload of the monsters, psykers, bounty hunters, etc. I had a group of 9 people that got together 3-4 times a week for 2 years! Man it was a blast.
I was all geared up for the re-release too, I thought maybe they would redo some of the rules ( like the better hth system in all their other games ) but was really disappointed that it was the same rules remade so I didnt pick up the new book.
Oh and Juve + Hand Flamers = Sweetness...sure ya gotta get close but wth thats what they're there for. Prove thier worth

I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter.

Played two awesome games with my new Eschers. Won one, lost the other.

I was playing an Orlock gang with a 570 rating advantage and every model with a Boltgun/Pistol, Meltagun, Grenade Launcher and Lascannon.

Unfortunately, I lost a territory in the second game, but hopefully my Ratskin will come through with a replacement soon.

Great game though - even though the hand to hand mechanics are a little wonky.

Necromunda got me started on GW. What a great game and SO much cheaper than putting together an entire 40K army.

Looking over the new rules and House lists, I wasn't very impressed. I think it somewhat cheapens the game that only certain House gangs can get certain weapons starting out. This makes sense with non-House gangs (Scavvies, etc.) but House gangs are supported by a large noble House and should therefore have a good input of weapons and material.

I think the House Weapon Lists were needed. All the gangs in the older ruleset were the same - pistols and swords. Removing 'swords' as a common item for everyone has gone a long way to improving the game.

I agree, the house rules add more character and are a small way of making the gangs(at start, at least) a little different.

Question: Why would anybody use an autogun when the lasgun has better
ammo rolls and overall effectiveness? Or am I reading the statlines wrong?

You're not reading it wrong. The Lasgun is better than the Autogun. -1 Sav Mod and a 2+ ammo roll make all the difference. We introduced a house rule with Autoguns (and Autopistols) that they can fire D3 shots at short range (ie. 1 Sustained Fire). Upped their cost to 25 as well. Makes both weapons worthwhile.

I'm so utterly bonkers for Necromunda.

It's the silliness that arises from all that rolling that I love - throwing a grenade, miss, drop the grenade, it goes down a crack, causes a hive quake, everyone dies, woo!

Sonofsigmar - they did indeed get very powerful, but it's a skirmish game, so appropriate scaling is needed fpr a crpssover. Space marines should really be straight 5's instead of straight 4's (if you know what I mean), two wounds and two attacks, and a good wodge of skills. I like to interpret a shot that hits, pins, and doesn't wound in necromunda as a near miss that makes the ganger brick themselves and hide, not an actual hit. makes it all seem slightly more realistic compared to the killing shots of 40K.

Run a whole lot of wfrp and other rpg's, play The Woods and Kill Team, gather and look mournfully at imperial guard knowing I'll never finish enough to use them on the tabletop
