Still haven't really got over my slow down yet (I think it is because I am not working towards a campaign book at the moment, as we are just coming to the end of All-Gates), but I did manage to finish a whole bunch of Kairic Acolytes this weekend:

Quite like these guys, and it will be cool of Nurgle and Slaanesh get some Marauder-style variants of their own. I quite like the 'characters' in the units, especially the scroll guy - a nice example of something that is dead simple to paint but comes up very nicely.

The orc is well and good but I absolutely love the paint scheme on the squig.

Thank you. It was Orange an yellow layered up. But then I did something dumb. I had to change the colors to bright green to yellow. Which turned out really good. I try to keep away from extra green on things, on models that are already green. I really like how the squig stands out!

Sigh, Yet another doomed attempt by man to bridge the gap between the material and spiritual worlds

@MongooseMatt, Haha, at first glance the blue and gold color made me mistake those as good guys. Well played, Tzeentch!

Great job on those!

I made my first skullcrusher. Specifically, the Skullhunter:

I've left the shield off to make painting easier, but I probably should have left the weapon off too. Couple of questions:

Does anyone see any mistakes anywhere? This was a tricky model to make and I'm worried bits might be lose or misplaced.

Also, was I right to go with the glaive rather than the big axe? I know the axe is specifically for the leader but I'd rather arm them with what their warscroll states. Also, I have plans to make a Juggerlord and I'd rather save an axe for him, to make him stand out further.

Also, just want to say, there's some stunning models in here. Great work everyone.

I'm so doing that. Gonna have to put more feathers on mine though, as well as having the different colours. Will have to think about how I'll go about that.

You're fine with the glaive. As long as you point out which model is the champion and stay consistent I haven't found that people care, even if said model has no differences from rank & file. As for mistakes, I don't see any beyond a few stray mold lines.

I remember from the last FF tactics game that my chocobo knights could get yellow, white, black, red, blue, brown and green chocobos. So maybe use those colors?

(Black was the best since it could fly and shoot fireballs. )

@Future War Cultist,

Does anyone see any mistakes anywhere? This was a tricky model to make and I'm worried bits might be lose or misplaced.

Nothing that I can see. So good job.

(note: I'm not a chaos model expert so could be wrong. Looks very intimidating, though.)

I've left the shield off to make painting easier, but I probably should have left the weapon off too. Couple of questions:

Haha, took me 20 Bret knights before I figured that out about the shield.

@ NinthMusketeer

That reminds me, I need to scrape off that mold. But yeah, if I make it clear that he's the leader he should be OK.

@ Baron Klatz

Making these things is always trail and error.

I have noticed one mistake; the Skullhunter's torso is too far back on his legs. It exposes a small part of the flat surface join. But is a tiny mistake and I think that a decent paint job and the shield will hide it.

Update on the Chocobo Stormcast - still waiting on the accept to the group. It's killing me!

@FWC An easy way to distinguish Champions is to give them unique colours for high ranks, especially when you don't have much to distinguish them otherwise. Something as simple as making the Bloodcrusher black instead of red would be perfect (as well as looking pretty awesome as well).

I've started the job of bringing my Pirate Ogres from the Old World to the Mortal Realms. First up is a new Tyrant to lead them: Cap'n Bargutsa, Captain of the Krakenmaw Tribe!

Converted from what was Golgfag and the pirate Maneater, with a Blood Vulture parrot thrown in.

That's a great idea! Actually, I was thinking of painting my army something other than red. I think black is much more sinister than red. But yeah, giving the champs extra colour would be a good way to make them stand out.

Also, more skullcrushers inbound:

For the hornblower I used a head from the Blood Warriors kit. The bare heads from the Skullcrusher kit weren't angry enough for me. It doesn't look too big does it?

@ Fentlegen

I love everything about that. Awesome job!

Would look better if they were massively OP for the point cost. As it stands they are merely an ingenious chaos dwarf conversion.

these are my chosen. Custom warscroll for campaign. Not that they are busted but 10 for 150 points and they get an extra attack basically from the normal infantry. Come in this flavor or great weapon wielding flavor.

Hi all,

after a long break from dakka and gw I have been inspired by AoS (and especially the fine work of people on this thread) to get back into gaming.

A friend and I split Spire of Dawn with me taking the rats - first up, Clan Moulder:

C&C welcome and hope to have some clanrats finished soon

While you sleep, they'll be waiting...

Have you thought about the Axis of Evil pension scheme?
