Sweet! Now if they would just make both those units worth taking in an IG list that would be helpful...lol.

Both decent, I'll probably even buy a Commissar.

The Ogryn is OK. They've never been my thing anyway.

Likewise, the Commissars aren't bad, but aren't particularly remarkable either.

Pretty thick armor for an Ogryn isn't it? What's their Armor Save now? 4+?
Either it's the leader (bonehead or similar) what the raised hand suggests, or the ogryns will be better armored which could be interesting gamewise.

The commisars also look beefier which is kind of cool. But on a meta level, beefing up human figures just makes the space marines even more puny-looking.

These are metal right?

Commissars are nice, nothing special. apart from the Powerfist + Book Commissar which is rather cool. That Ogryn is a waste on so many levels (assuming it's metal).

What rules release are these guys attached to?

Yeah, I'm with CK on this one - if they give these two units rules that make them worth taking, then sure I'll buy a dozen. Otherwise, forget it.

I will get that Commissar with the bolt pistol though. He's in an 'execution' pose, so that's pretty cool.

meh. To be honest not a big enough improvement to buy them if I have them already.

Decent though.

Hope more old fools come to their senses and start giving you their money instead of those Union Jack Blood suckers...

Hmmm. The accessories certainly look like metal (their sprue attachment method does, and their sheen in the pictures), but the figs really look like plastic. Maybe that's just wishful thinking, as they're pretty detailed for plastic.

I'm a fan of the Commissar with hand behind back aiming a pistol. That practiced pose says "diorama of officer being executed" all over it.

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

They're resin test casts. Just one step of the mold-making process... they do an initial cast in resin to test the mold. I believe it's supposed to be because resin shows any flaws better than metal.

So I guess they never bothered to do resin test casts for the metal Chaos possessed?

Those models are a lot better than most of the current Commissars (except for the ageless pot bellied/power fist model).

Isn't this like when they released four new Tau Ethereals when 95% of tau players use none, and the other 5% take one? Why no Rough Riders, cadian heavy flamer (one of the few options not covered by the current range), or even shotgun toting hardened veterans (that'd be a cool unit in metal).

Well, I love new models for my IG, so I'll probably pick up a Commissar, but Ogryn are simply too bad to replace/supplement the five I already have.

The Commissar with the Bolt Pistol is pretty nice. Gaunt still wins out though for Commissar poses.

Not sure what is going on with the pose on the ogryn, but the commisars are pretty good for guys in peaked caps and large coats destined to be painted black.

I really like the new Ogryn, much better than the "Hey we got big Chins!" sculpts out now. THis guy has on some really heavy armor, to bad I stilll would not take them if they had a 4+ save.

The commissars are definite improvements, but that Ogryn sucks. I agree with Polonius they need a new rough rider model or a squad or something less stupid than "Ogres in Space!" (I'm sure I'm not the only one who noticed that horrid gut plate.)

Orks are like those neighbor children who aren't invited to your parties and they come right in anyway.

Commissars are a bit more widely used than ethereals. Ethereals have always been rubbish, but commissars can really improve an army. More power weapons/ fists and decent side arms, not to mention the leadership bonuses and the summary execution.

I've always taken plenty in my armies, and will in my DKoK army, not seen the army list yet though so i presume they will have them? If not to be honest I'll probably use them as normal guard with FW vehicle options.

All of the other options you mentioned are covered by forgeworld (save maybe the cadian heavy flamer... can they even have those can't remember? I know Catachans always could).  Forget about GW proper realsing anytihng worthwhile or supporting a game system.

Leave that to FW and gamers.

Shotguns are easy to covert out of Lasguns with a little cutting and filing. I'm sure I could make a convincing heavy flamer out of two regular flamers.

My Rough Riders I'm converting out of Cadian Guardsmen and Lizardmen Saurus Cavalry. They're certainly the most difficult.

The Rough Riders are definitely a gap in the range, but I don't mind the other things that can be easily converted.
