A koi pond is on the list already, just doing some research on water effects.

The garden is a cool idea. Couldn't be an objective obviously because we don't want people stomping all over it. Have to figure out where I put my 28mm-scale zen rake...

Why do you have to make it looks so good.. all weekend I wanted to paint up some Bushido figs after checking out their website.

Well, I did make a Facebook Group for local Bushido players... does that count for something?

... of course, I'm just about the only one who's posted anything so far (Yorkright did too, but only to say that he didn't have anything to post).

Very characterful . Great painting as well.

The first thing to pop into my mind though was the reason Batman wore a bright yellow bat symbol on his chest was to subconsciously get his opponents to aim there where he had more armor to protect him. Your guy seems to have a target painted on his junk...

You guys are getting me excited more about this game and now I’ll wind up buying a starter box with no one to play against . Guess I’ll have to test the waters on my kids again .

LOL! I did not design the figure! At least I didn't make the circle blue. I thought that sneaking in the Japanese flag was a fun touch.

Zenkibo finished.

Here's the group so far. One more to go for my basic 35 rice clan. Strange... the photo here looks blurry to me, but if you go to the gallery and zoom in... it's perfectly clear.

Yeah, they're on wrong. They're also poorly sculpted so I had no good way of figuring out how they were supposed to go on.

Sad thing about the wings, but I love what you've done with them.

Shame about the wings, but not very noticable tbh - probably what caused the switchup in the first place. And let's not forget it's still a very cool looking and well painted model

Game plays well, though at times the rules look like they were written by a British lawyer (i.e. are incomprehensible). Actually it plays well even if we're getting the rules wrong. Reminds me of some of the early 40k rules in that they clearly make sense to the guys who wrote them, but they mustn't have had them reviewed by anyone outside the "inner circle" so there are still some holes that need to be plugged (but its easy to come to an accommodation about when your playing). That being said, they have come up with a rules revision (available free from their web site) which fixed a lot issues and there's a couple of international facebook pages where you can get clarifications as well as hang out with fellow enthusiasts.

In spite of this, the game is fun and is fairly easy to play... the things we're getting wrong we don't miss. Lots of very different styles of missions which favor different clans and of course your build matters too. The board becomes its own character and an important part of the game. Painted armies on a nice board make for a very cinematic gaming experience.

There are bird people, snake people, monks, ninjas, syndicate, bakemono (goblins/ogres) pirates (with frog people), human samurai, necromancers. Check out the web site for details on the clans... https://gctstudios.com/store

Here's a few shots from a couple of games Thing 1 and I had with a friend on Monday evening... Our friend Tyler runs monks.

I also finished the last model from my starter set this morning... so I now have a fully painted 35-rice force! The paintjob looks so crude at this level of magnification... it's depressing! I don't think I thinned my paints enough on the top highlight of the blue which clunked up the whole figure. :/ I really like how the figure looks in-hand though, even with the clunky highlights.

I really like the models. All the bases look really amazing too. I really like the long dried grass on that monks base. Did someone raid the broom?

@Archer: Actually that's my son's Ito miniature. He snagged the dry grass from my stash of basing materials as I used to use the same stuff on my Mantis Warrior Tranquility Snipers (sternguard).

Spoiler:

@SlaveToDorkness: It is indeed.

I don't think so CK. Ito is a common name in Japan.

From Wikipedia: "The Itō clan (伊東氏 Itō-shi) are a Japanese clan that claimed descent from Fujiwara Korekimi (727–789) and Kudō Ietsugu.[1]"
