had a few rules questions come up...

1.  When charging into hand to hand against a unit already engaged into hand to hand...do you get the +1 attack?  In the rulebook its pretty simple IMO...some guys I play with are arguing that since the hth didnt origionate against them that they do not get it...so get the +1 attack or not?

2.  Barrage Weapons...who gets hit?  anyone not directly under the center is hit on 4+ or is it anyone touched is auto hit...

3.  Multiple Barrage weapons...if a model is touched by separate hits of a multiple barrage...are they hit multiple times or does the multiple barrage just count as 1 weapon so a model could only be hit once...we have alot of monstrous creatures that can get hit more than once.

thanks for help!!!

1) The +1A Charge bonus is for "Engaged models who launched the close assault that turn (ie, charged)", so it doesn't matter what the status of their opponent is, all that matters is whether the model charged or not.

2) It certainly isn't clear in the main rules, but if you flip to the summary in the back of the rulebook it is a bit (but not much) more clear. Basically, barrages use the standard Blast weapon formula to determine hits: If the model is totally under the blast it is hit if it is partially under the blast it is hit on a 4+.

3) There is nothing to indicate that each blast counts as the same weapon so you total up the hits caused by each and every blast in a multiple barrage. But remember that multiple barrages follow their own wierd little scatter rule for determining where each blast lands (see page 32 of the rulebook).

yakface's 40K rule #1: Although the rules allow you to use modeling to your advantage, how badly do you need to win your toy soldier games?
yakface's 40K rule #2: Friends don't let friends start a MEQ army.
yakface's 40K rule #3: Codex does not ALWAYS trump the rulebook, so please don't say that!

3) To elaborate... if a two shot barrage lands on A and C, then B is a partial on both. That is two hits, and two partials. If you roll a 5-6, then that is 4 hits. Seems weird since it is only 3 models, but it is an abstract; heck, may be that none of those models will be removed...

A..B..C..D..E..F..etc

Not soi weird if you think of the hits as being from fragments, rocks, overpressure, being blown against an object etc.
