Got a crap-ton of tropical greenery from somewhere in China and some boats + scatter terrain (from Oshiro Modelterrain).

Ooh...pretty new board layouts coming....

Yeah, the palms are really neat. They were kind of mushed and compressed from the shipping, but hit them with a heat gun (hair dryer) lightly for about 30 seconds and the palm fronds spread out and look fantastic!

Nice selection of stuff there.

I should have gotten half the number of palms and twice the number of the little green shrubs!

True, from a pure numbers standpoint. The palms take up a lot more space, while you need more ground cover in from the little guys. Two or three palms would make for a nice spot of scatter terrain, but that would probably take about a dozen shrubs to fill out the base.

You need a shrubber- Monty Python has one- Roger the Shrubber, he sells shrubbery.... (inserts Knights Who Say Neeq here)….

Hey gang, sorry for being quiet. On vacation. Back, will get you that link promptly. Loved reading all the Python bits. Thank you!

So... the boy absconded with all of my trees and decided to make himself a Jungle board for his Ito Clan. So much for my dreams of sandy, palm-filled beaches... The ground (cork) still needs sand applies (which is done, just no pic yet) and will get some washing with sepia as we really don't want it to look like sand. Either that or I may just paint it so it matches the brown of the board. Lastly it'll get grass added. Sorry for the huge size of the pics but I'm pulling them off of Facebook and I can't scale down the linked image as I would if it was a normal image upload. I think he did a fantastic job making really unique, functional terrain. I'll be working on finishing it up for him while he's in Japan.

Thanks guys. If he'd told me he was going to do this ahead of time, I would have advised him to remove the mold lines from the big palms and re-painted, highlighted and washed their trunks before placement... however, that didn't happen & now everything is glued into place. I might do a little bit of dry-brushing and washing on them to try and make them look a little less like plastic.

We haven't tried playing on them yet, but he did try and spread things out enough that they were playable. I guess we'll find out soon enough. For the most part, it looks like their should be plenty of room to play around the foliage.
